Appalachian Brewing Company (Harrisburg)

Celebrating 28 Years of Craft Beer History

The Appalachian Brewing Company (ABC), a pioneer in central Pennsylvania’s craft beer scene, officially announced the closure of its original Harrisburg brewpub after 28 years of operation. Situated in the heart of Harrisburg, this flagship location was more than a local staple—it was the region’s first brewery since 1951 and a driving force behind the city’s revitalization and craft beer renaissance.

Landmark Brewery Roots

Founded in 1997, the Harrisburg brewpub occupied a stunning, historic three-story structure built circa 1915, with deep beer heritage and original lagering rooms dating back to 1890. The brewery’s brick walls and exposed timber beams provided the perfect backdrop for ABC’s mission: to blend innovative craft brewing with a warm, inviting dining experience.

Appalachian Brewing Company’s Harrisburg Legacy

Appalachian Brewing Company (ABC) made history when it was founded in 1997, becoming the first brewery to operate in Harrisburg since 1951. Its flagship brewpub was housed in a massive three-story brick and timber building, originally built around 1915, with a lagering room dating back to 1890. Restoring this space from an abandoned warehouse to a vibrant hub for beer, food, and community events was a monumental labor of love that took nearly two years. The renovation not only revived a piece of Harrisburg’s industrial history but also marked ABC as a pioneer in the region’s craft beer renaissance.

From its opening, ABC became a central point for social life in downtown Harrisburg, offering brewery tours, live music at the Abbey Bar, rooftop dining with views of the city, and a menu that paired scratch-made, locally sourced food with its lineup of ales, lagers, and craft sodas. As the company grew, the Harrisburg location remained its largest and most iconic site, brewing flagship beers like Mountain Lager and Hoppy Trails IPA for distribution throughout the mid-Atlantic. ABC’s bold move brought brewing back to the state capital, fostering a renewed appreciation for local beer culture and solidifying its place as an anchor in Harrisburg’s identity.

Jack Sproch, co-founder and longtime owner of Appalachian Brewing Company, is recognized as a visionary in Pennsylvania’s craft beer community. As both brewer and business leader, Sproch—alongside his founding partners Shawn Gallagher and Artie Tafoya—helped revive Harrisburg’s brewing tradition in 1997 by launching ABC in a historic warehouse. Under his stewardship, the company grew from a single brewpub into a respected regional brand known for consistent, innovative beers, quality craft sodas, and a genuine commitment to community and hospitality.

Why Did ABC Harrisburg Close?

After nearly three decades, the Harrisburg location is shutting its doors due to shifting market dynamics and increased competition. The company cited evolving consumer patterns and a saturated craft beer landscape as primary reasons for retiring this legendary location—reminding us that even icons must adapt to changing tastes and economic realities.

For twenty eight years ABC was a Harrisburg craft beer anchor, Appalachian Brewing Company’s flagship brewpub closed its doors largely due to changes in the market landscape. The company cited evolving consumer patterns and a saturated craft beer market as the key drivers. Over the past several years, competition in the Central Pennsylvania craft beer scene has increased significantly, with new breweries emerging not just locally but also across the state and nation. This has led to more options for consumers and put substantial pressure on even the most established brewpubs to continually adapt and stand out.

Additionally, there has been a broader national trend of softened demand for beer—shipments and consumption have both declined, reflecting shifts in consumer preferences and economic pressures. The popularity of alternative beverages like hard seltzers and spirits, alongside continued cautious spending, has challenged traditional breweries. These headwinds resulted in the difficult decision to retire their Harrisburg location, even as ABC continues to operate and innovate at its other sites.

By acknowledging these challenges, Appalachian Brewing Company aims to focus on its remaining locations while adapting its operations to thrive in a rapidly changing craft beer landscape.

Appalachian Brewing Company’s Brewing Will Continue

The company will continue brewing operations at the complex and The Abbey Bar will remain open for events. They will continue their normal brewing operations out of the Appalachian Brewing Company’s location, primarily still for distribution, for The Abbey Bar, and for their other locations.

This comes also with the news of the returning 717 Collaboration Beer releasing soon. (See here: 717 Collaboration Beer Returns.)

Appalachian Brewing Company: More Than Just a Brewpub

While the Harrisburg closure marks the end of an era, ABC’s legacy lives on. Here’s what every craft beer enthusiast should know:

ABC’s Multi-Location Footprint

  • Other Brewpubs: ABC operates locations in Mechanicsburg, Gettysburg (two spots), Lititz, and Shippensburg, each with their own unique beer programs and inventive kitchens

  • Production & Distribution: ABC’s reach extends across the mid-Atlantic, distributing flagship beers, seasonal specialties, and small-batch brews to bars, restaurants, and retailers throughout the region

  • Annual Production: The company boasts an annual output of 15,000 US beer barrels, making it one of Pennsylvania’s largest independent craft breweries

Standout Beers & Craft Offerings

ABC’s taplists have always featured a diverse lineup:

Flagship Brews Seasonal/Rotating
Aero-Head Bock Zoigl Star Lager (unfiltered)
Trail Blaze Maple Brown Ale Celtic Knot Irish Red Ale
Chocolate Avenue Stout Anniversary Maibock
Mountain Lager (Dortmunder Export) Mad Cameron Belgian Wit
Hoppy Trails IPA Fresh Hop Pale Ale
Outta Focus Double IPA Rutty Buck Pumpkin Ale
Jolly Scot Scottish Style Ale Batch No. 666 Halloween Beer
Water Gap Wheat Ale Grinnin’ Grizzly Holiday Spiced Ale
Pennypacker Porter
  • Award-Winning Craft Sodas: Beyond beer, ABC became famous for craft sodas—such as Root Beer, White Birch Beer, and Ginger Beer—brewed with natural ingredients

  • Small-Batch Spirits: The Mechanicsburg location now features a Spirits store, with ABC’s own bourbon, gin, rum, and vodka (including lemon, orange, and vanilla flavors)

The Abbey Bar: Harrisburg’s Iconic Venue

Above the Harrisburg brewhouse, The Abbey Bar will be remembered as a vibrant center for live music and special events. Locals and visitors alike enjoyed a unique combination of craft beer culture and entertainment in this celebrated space.

The Future of Appalachian Brewing Company

Appalachian Brewing Company is committed to continuing its tradition at its remaining locations, with new brews, creative menus, brewery tours, and events that foster the spirit of independent brewing

. While the Harrisburg brewpub’s closure will be felt by many, ABC’s impact on Pennsylvania’s craft beer evolution endures—and you can still sip your favorites at locations across the state.

Gateway Craft Brewing Has Closed https://thebeerthrillers.com/2025/01/15/gateway-craft-brewing-has-closed/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=gateway-craft-brewing-has-closed Wed, 15 Jan 2025 18:13:15 +0000 https://thebeerthrillers.com/?p=15877 Gateway Craft Brewing Has Closed

Located at 2207 Northwood Dr Unit 3A, Salisbury, MD 21801, Gateway Craft Brewing opened in 2020, and unfortunately is having to close down. 2025 is starting off rough this year, Four Seasons Brewing has announced that they are “currently” closed, and now Gateway Craft Brewing has permanently closed. Gateway Craft Brewing was one of a few breweries located in Salisbury MD, and opened during a rough time, with the pandemic, and all of the other events and happenings of 2020.

Gateway Craft Brewing’s announcement on social media.

Gateway Craft Brewing Announces Permanent Closing

At 9:41 AM this morning, Gateway Craft Brewing made the following announcement via Facebook:

2025….

….is starting off on a bad note. Unfortunately, we must close Gateway Craft Brewing permanently. For the past 4 years we had enjoyed sharing our beer and the company of our customers and friends. Tim’s recovery from the surgery is coming along fine, but he continues to have difficulty walking, making it painful to complete all the tasks needed to maintain the brewery. If we can’t make beer, we are unable to bear the costs of keeping it open.

It has been very painful coming to this decision.

Thank you for your help and support in giving us the opportunity to further the craft beer vibe here on the Eastern Shore. Please join us Saturday January 25 for potluck, our remaining beer, discounted merch, and sharing time with friends.

Gateway Craft Brewing Facebook Post

2024 was a tough year for a lot of breweries, and 2025 doesn’t look to be much better. Tim’s medical and health issues also complicated and made things a lot harder as well for Gateway Craft Brewing.

Add another brewery to the list for 2024. This time its Böser Geist Brewing out of Easton, PA. Located at 1250 Simon Blvd k100, Easton, PA 18042. They just announced their difficult decision to close in the upcoming weeks via Facebook and social media just a bit ago today (August 16th, 2024).

This marks one of the many breweries in Pennsylvania that is closing this year, and over dozens across the country. (Just this week upcoming will be Mellow Mink Brewing’s last days of operation.)

Announcement

The following comes from Böser Geist Brewing’s Facebook account:

Happy Friday Everyone!
As much of you know we’ve been putting out some amazing stuff for you guys over the past couple months and rearranging some things in hopes of stepping it up! We’re really grateful to our new brewer Paul and everything he’s put out thus far to date. James has been working out front with staff and in the back with the kitchen to make your visit as memorable as possible and it’s something as a team we’ve always strived to do. That’s why this next part doesn’t come easy.
We’ve had some battles in recent months that are just too hard to ignore and/or overcome which puts us into the situation that we’ve had to make. But before we get into that we wanted to thank all of our loyal guests and fans. Over the years we’ve grown and you’ve grown with us. We’ve made some lifetime friends and built relationships as well as watched so many people come into our home celebrate their special moments! We’ve had weddings, graduations, reunions, bridal and baby showers. We’ve shared in that special day as a stop for a bachelor or bachelorette party. We’ve had birthdays young and old, wedding parties, engagements, and many first dates! We’ve had the privilege of supporting many organizations including Breast Cancer Awareness- Men Wear Pink campaign, local youth organizations, fun runs, and 5k’s.
The reasons above make the next part not so easy. We are coming up to our final weeks. It hasn’t been an easy decision to make, but it’s for the best and it sets up a path for the next steps!
That said we thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts! You’ve all made this trip pretty spectacular and we still have some things up our sleeve we’ll be releasing in the next couple days. So please stop in before the end of the month and give support to our team and James and Paul!
We love you all!
And although Boser Geist may be saying good bye – you haven’t seen the last of us by far…love James, Paul & the AMAZING staff

Controversy

There has been some controversy following the brewery. Nothing officially reported in the different presses, but reports of things involving other breweries, namely their beers and kegs and recipes. Outside of insider trade talk, there has been no official discussion or reports made. There was also an alleged incident involving Seven Sirens Brewing Company and a somewhat vague-ish Facebook / social media posting about them chasing customers from one brewery to another, nothing again substantiated or claimed against Böser Geist Brewing but heavily implied. Böser Geist Brewing did not respond when asked for comments on these issues.

Selin’s Grove Brewing Closing Until Further Notice https://thebeerthrillers.com/2024/07/16/selins-grove-brewing-closing-until-further-notice/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=selins-grove-brewing-closing-until-further-notice Tue, 16 Jul 2024 14:44:32 +0000 https://thebeerthrillers.com/?p=15295

Selin’s Grove Brewing announcement

Selin’s Grove Brewing Announces Closure

The hits keep coming this week. In a week that had  Grand Illusion Cider announce their closure, Mad Princes Brewing, the brewery of 2 Dogz and a Guy, Tied House (former partner of Pour Man’s Brewing), Odd Breed, and sadly far too many more across the country (and even more then abroad as well) in the past month or so – we can now sadly add another to this growing list – Selin’s Grove Brewing.

Like I said, the hits keep coming.

Just in the past month it feels like all we’ve been doing on here is discussing breweries closing, restaurants closing, events cancelling, brewing related websites closing, etc. Sigh.

Just now on their Facebook account, Selin’s Grove Brewing announced:

To all of our Selin’s Grove Brewing patrons:

We just received word that some of the owners of the pub would like for us to close until further notice. We apologize to our loyal customers and hope things will be up and running again soon!

Selin’s Grove Brewing – Facebook Post

Closure

No word on how permanent this is. Speculation will run rampant, but there is no word on how long, what it means, or what it entails. The Selin’s Grove Pub and Brewery and Restaurant was put up for sale in 2020. (Selin’s Grove Pub for Sale.)

Selin’s Grove Brewery is located at 121 N Market St, Selinsgrove, PA 17870.

We will keep you posted and updated when we hear anything.

Mad Princes Brewing Announces Upcoming Closure https://thebeerthrillers.com/2024/07/08/mad-princes-brewing-announces-upcoming-closure/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=mad-princes-brewing-announces-upcoming-closure Mon, 08 Jul 2024 19:00:49 +0000 https://thebeerthrillers.com/?p=15262

Mad Princes Brewing has Announced Their Upcoming Closure

Mad Princes Brewing Announces Upcoming Closure

Sigh…. another Pennsylvania brewery has announced that they will be closing soon. On the heels of Mellow Mink Announcing Their Upcoming Closure; Mad Princes Brewing has just announced via their social media pages that they too will be closing. Mad Princes Brewing is located in Doylestown, PA and currently has no firm date for their last day of operations. They have made recent posts about beers being put on tap. The brewery – which has no confirmed end date yet has stated they will maintain the hours they have listed on Facebook and Google, can be located at 2537 Bogarts Tavern Rd, Doylestown, PA 18902.

The Announcement

Mad Princes Brewing took to social media today to announce their upcoming closure. Their announcement reads:

Friends, it is with a sad & heavy heart that we must make an announcement that has recently become all too common in the craft brewing industry: After over 8 1/2 years, Mad Princes Brewing will be ceasing operations.
We have no firm final date as of yet, at least until the end of July, perhaps a week or two into August. It depends on how long the beer holds out and other factors. To paraphrase the great Stoic Philosopher, John “no IPAs” Rambo – “Mad Princes got themselves killed in COVID, and they didn’t even know it…”
We will miss being part of the Bucks County brewing community, participating in local Beer Festivals & events, being part of the Bucks County Ale Trail, but most of all, you, our customers. Without you, we would not have been able to share this hectic and rewarding journey together.
As a parting shot, we will be releasing later this month our final beer; the last sixtel of the 2022 “St. Lazarus Lemming” Rye Whiskey Barrel Aged Barleywine. It will be limited to two 6oz. pours per visit, no growlers (argh!). 13.8% ABV Oh, Stange glasses and Growler Drains are still available at 50% off. Seacrest out!

Mad Princes Brewing is a small, family-owned brewery located in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Founded by brothers Kurt and Brian DeLuca in 2015, the brewery has carved out a niche for itself in the local craft beer scene with its unique and eclectic approach to brewing. The DeLuca brothers, both passionate homebrewers before opening Mad Princes, have a deep appreciation for traditional brewing techniques while also experimenting with innovative and unconventional methods. This blend of respect for tradition and creative exploration is reflected in their diverse range of beer offerings, which includes everything from classic styles like IPAs and stouts to more experimental brews featuring unusual ingredients and flavor combinations.

The brewery itself is housed in a rustic, cozy building that exudes a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. The taproom is a popular spot for locals and visitors alike, offering a comfortable space to enjoy Mad Princes’ handcrafted beers. In addition to their regular lineup of beers, Mad Princes Brewing is known for its rotating selection of seasonal and limited-edition brews, ensuring that there’s always something new and exciting for patrons to try. The DeLuca brothers often engage directly with their customers, sharing stories about their brewing process and the inspiration behind their creations, fostering a strong sense of community and connection.

Mad Princes Brewing also places a strong emphasis on sustainability and supporting local agriculture. They source many of their ingredients from local farms and strive to minimize their environmental impact through various eco-friendly practices. This commitment to sustainability is an integral part of their brewing philosophy and resonates with their customer base, who appreciate not only the quality and creativity of the beers but also the brewery’s dedication to responsible practices. Through their innovative brews, welcoming atmosphere, and sustainable approach, Mad Princes Brewing has established itself as a beloved fixture in the Doylestown community and a notable player in the broader craft beer industry.

Mad Princes Brewing is a microbrewery from Buckingham, PA. They have 119 unique beers and over 6,600 ratings with a global average rating of 3.67 (as of 7.8.24). Their Untappd description reads: “In a Bucks County kitchen far, far away, two brothers clinked their pints of home brew and stared down destiny with their taste buds. Their palettes charged from years in the wine and coffee industries, Jim & Kurt Ludwig sought to brew uncommon and undervalued styles of beer. As the home brewing operation expanded, they moved from Jim’s kitchen to the breezeway, then to the patio, the garage, and finally Mad Princes Brewing in Buckingham, PA. Under a roof fit for a king, Jim took the royal Manager’s seat, and Kurt donned the Brewmaster’s crown.

Humble Monk Brewery Forced to Relocate Amidst Unforeseen Challenges

Humble Monk Brewery, a well-known Cincinnati craft brewery in the Northside neighborhood, has announced an unexpected move due to “unforeseen circumstances.” According to a recent Facebook update from the brewery, the owners are actively searching for a new location but have not yet confirmed where the brewery will be relocating.

The brewery has been given a deadline of June 22 to vacate its current premises, adding urgency to the search for a new home. Despite the relocation challenges, fans of Humble Monk can still enjoy their favorite brews, as the brewery will continue selling its craft beer through packaged cans and kegs. In addition, merchandise remains available for purchase online.

Stay tuned for updates on the future home of Humble Monk Brewery and what’s next for this beloved Cincinnati taproom.

Cinderlands Foederhouse Temporary Closure https://thebeerthrillers.com/2023/06/30/cinderlands-foederhouse-temporary-closure/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=cinderlands-foederhouse-temporary-closure Fri, 30 Jun 2023 20:33:00 +0000 https://thebeerthrillers.com/?p=11877
Cinderlands Foederhouse

Cinderlands Foederhouse Temporary Closure

A little over an hour ago Cinderlands Beer Co went on their social media pages announcing the temporary closure of their Foederhouse location. The closure is just temporary as they re-set the building, turning it into a “new brewpub experience”.

The temporary closure is looking to take all of July, and its looking like it won’t be until August until the new brewpub will be open.

The Announcement

This is their announcement posted to their Facebook page:

‼️HEADS UP: FOEDERHOUSE TEMPORARY CLOSURE‼️

Heyyyyyy buddies. We have a piece of bittersweet news to share with you. This weekend will be the last weekend for the @cinderlandsfoederhouse as a dining and drinking experience at our original Lawrenceville location. We’ve been dialing back our hours and menu over the last month as we prepare to go into chrysalis mode and emerge in August as a brewery love letter to the neighborhood.

What to expect: a neighborhood brewpub experience, new stuff to dive into with your buds while you have a beer, a totally re-worked mezzanine and back room, a new menu and kitchen focus, and a re-imagined bar program dialed into the most popular Cinderlands beers complemented by some killer new drink options.

What’s not changing: the Cinderlands Foederhouse will continue to exist as an award-winning production brewery. Our gold medal naturally fermented foederbier will still crank out of our tiny basement brewery, and it will soon be available on draft and in package across all of our locations.

What to do now: come drink beer and eat smashburgers with us this weekend! We’re closing out the Human Robot House Guest residency with a bang. Czech 10 and Hallertau Pils are on their last drops and we are replacing them with Polotmavy Czech Garnet Lager and Rangi New Zealand Pilsner when they kick. Come have a last glass with us in the Foederhouse!

After this weekend, stay tuned for updates and announcements as we work towards revealing our newest concept to you all.

FINALLY, @cinderlandswarehouse and @cinderlandstaproomwex are NOT affected and will continue operating normally.

‘Till August, Lawrenceville friends ✌️

Liquid Noise Brewing Company Announces The Show is Ending https://thebeerthrillers.com/2022/12/05/liquid-noise-brewing-company-announces-the-show-is-ending/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=liquid-noise-brewing-company-announces-the-show-is-ending Tue, 06 Dec 2022 03:37:20 +0000 https://thebeerthrillers.com/?p=9979

Sadly… Sometimes the Show Must End

In rather shocking news, about a half hour ago Liquid Noise Brewing Company, out of Marysville Pennsylvania, has announced that they will be closing their doors and will be having one final show. No closing date has been announced yet, but they just posted on Facebook and Instagram encouraging their fans and guests and customers to use their trivia winnings and gift cards.

They were just about to make it to their third year anniversary.

Liquid Noise’s Message

The brewery’s post on their social media just about a half hour ago reads:

From a worldwide pandemic to loss of loved ones, Liquid Noise pushed through, but it saddens us to announce that just shy of our 3-year birthday our tour has come to an end. We will be closing our doors sometime in December. We will continue to operate our currents days and hours until our closing date is announced. We value all the new friends that we have made during our journey and appreciate all the loyal friends that have shown their support for us.

We encourage you to please use any gift cards or trivia winnings at this time until we announce our final show date.

If you have any special photos or memories of your times at Liquid Noise please share them on this post! Remember….keep an eye out for our last day and specials that are on the way!!

On behalf of the entire Liquid Noise Family we THANK YOU!! It has been one heck of back stage tour! CHEERS AND KEEP ON ROCKING & CRAFTING LIKE A ROCKSTAR!! 🤘🍺🎤🍻

Liquid Noise Brewing Company – Facebook Post

Liquid Noise Brewing Company

Liquid Noise Brewing Company was the first brewery in Marysville Pennsylvania, and for the longest time was the only brewery running in Perry County, Pennsylvania.

As per Untappd:

They are a micro brewery out of Marysville, Pennsylvania with 176 unique beers and 8,128 ratings. They have a global average rating of 3.78 (as of 12.5.22). They have no listed bio or description on Untappd.

For more information on Liquid Noise Brewing Company:

They were a regular stop and visit for Josh, as well as myself, and later Amy as well. Leela was also a big fan of sitting out front (she especially enjoyed getting to “steal” french fries from me). Its really a shame to see the brewery announce that they will be closing. This comes off the recent news of both Rocket Frog Brewing Company (in Virginia) announcing their closure, as well as myself being informed that Burd’s Nest Brewing Company (in Carlisle, Pennsylvania) will also be shuttering their doors.

End of the Year

Hopefully this trend of breweries closing at the end of the year won’t continue, and hopefully its not a sign of the “craft beer” and “craft brewery” bubble and marketplace collapsing and bursting like everyone talks about happening. Fingers crossed at any rate.

Thanks For Reading

Sad news to end the day on. We (Amy and myself… and Leela too) loved going to Liquid Noise. So did Josh I know.

Hopefully this will be the last brewery closure post I’ll have to make (for a long, long, long time). And we wish the best and good luck to all involved with Liquid Noise Brewing Company moving forward.

Goodnight everyone.

Cheers All.

Weyerbacher Tap Room Indefinitely Closing https://thebeerthrillers.com/2022/07/27/weyerbacher-tap-room-indefinitely-closing/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=weyerbacher-tap-room-indefinitely-closing Wed, 27 Jul 2022 23:14:00 +0000 https://thebeerthrillers.com/?p=9572

The Weyerbacher Tap Room Announces Indefinite Closure

Just a bit ago today, Weyerbacher’s Facebook page for their Tap Room announced that it will be closed until further notice, effective immediately. This comes a week (July 21st) posting new hours for their tap room on the same page.

There has been rumors circulating about the status of Weyerbacher in recent months, and the post seems to confirm much of it. Weyerbacher Brewing Company has been in business for 27 years, nearly three decades, which is quite the milestone in craft brewing. They have many celebrated favorites like Blithering Idiot, Tiny, Merry Monks, Sunday Morning Stout, and Sunday Mole Stout.

Their Post

Along with the following images (text pictures) they posted the following on their social media platforms:

Friends of Weyerbacher,

There has been a lot of confusion coming out of our taproom lately and we would like to provide you with some clarity and reassurance. First off, we are sending this message with optimism and enthusiasm for what the future holds! Weyerbacher is in the midst of some big changes. Changes that we intend will rejuvenate our brand and carry us through another 27 years and beyond.

There is no map for the changes we are making. Unfortunately, this has led to some bumps in the road over the past few weeks and we have had to make some quick decisions in the moment. Those decisions were necessary, but have also led to questions, rumors, and confusion. We apologize to anyone that has been inconvenienced.

Our taproom is officially closed until further norice. This isn’t the scenario we were hoping for, but it does not deter us from our long-term goals. The good news is that we are still in production and working to keep our core brands on the shelves and available to you. Our brewers are also working on some exciting new offerings from our pilot system for when the taproom re-opens!

This is where we are friends. We want to thank you all for your loyalty and support. The craft beer industry is challenging and breweries do not stay in business for 27 years without good beer and amazing friends. We owe that longevity to the support you have given us over the years. We know this statement doesn’t answer all the questions you may have, but we hope that it dispels the rumors and provides some clarity.

For now,

Birds are real.

The Earth is round.

Weyerbacher still stands.

The moon landing is questionable.

Weyerbacher Brewing Company

Weyerbacher Brewing Company has been brewing for 27 years in Easton, Pennsylvania. According to Untappd they have 526 unique beers with nearly a million ratings (950 thousand) and a global average rating of 3.78 (as of today: 7.27.22). They are considered a Regional Brewery out of Easton, PA. Their Untappd description reads: Weyerbacher Brewing was founded in 1995 in a livery stable located in downtown Easton, Pennsylvania. Eventually outgrowing that small space, we made the move to the 30,000 square foot facility that we still call home today. Since the beginning, we have established a reputation for making big, full-flavored, high quality brews. While predominantly known for Belgian-style brews including Merry Monks and QUAD, we have an extensive barrel aging program which produces fan favorites including Insanity and Riserva. In recent years, we’ve dipped our toes into IPAs and other lower ABV styles with great success. Experimenting with different ingredients and brewing techniques, our brewers continue to stretch their creative minds and develop interesting and mind blowing beers that will satisfy your taste for the extraordinary. The Tap Room at Weyerbacher Brewing is your gateway into the world of Weyerbacher! The Tap Room opens every day at NOON and has over 20 beers on draft every day! Have a beer at our bar or grab your favorite beer to go! In addition to enjoying the freshest Weyerbacher beers on tap, The Tap Room offers: • Live music from local musicians every Friday and Saturday! • FREE guided tours on Fridays and Saturdays! • Beer release parties and special events!

Battle of the Beers

We are currently into the final four round of our Battle of the Beers (2022) tournament. Be sure to check it out here and vote:

Tomorrow is the final day of voting, so better check it out before it goes to the finals!

Thanks For Reading

This is unfortunate news for sure. I’ve always been a huge fan of Weyerbacher Brewing Company, and they were always a staple of the Warwick Hotel and Bar when I was younger and going there a lot more. I remember one time having a Double Simcoe keg kicker party at Warwick, where it was 2$ pints of Double Simcoe, which was a 9% Double IPA (DIPA). Oooh boy…. that was a good night. Thank god The Warwick was within walking distance.

Blog related stuff – Tomorrow will be the wrap up of The Final Four round for the Battle of the Beers (2022). Friday will then start The Finals. Who will it be? Right now it’s looking like it will be Toppling Goliath’s Pseudo Sue vs. Von C Brewing’s Walking on Clouds. Time will tell however! Saturday we will be down in Newfreedom for a memorial service for my Aunt Linda. After that, we might be going to various places, not sure. This weekend is also the Black Flag Brewing Company’s 6th Anniversary, so we might be stopping there. There is also the Schulkyll Brewfest this weekend. So might try and get there for that too.

Well, wherever we’ll end up, ya’ll will know it!

Cheers!
