Cox Brewing Company – Special Update Announcement

Cox Brewing Company’s Announcement

Just minutes ago on their social media platforms Cox Brewing Company has made a special update and announcement. It appears they are moving out of their PizzaTown location Rally Point (see – Rally Point – Cox Brewing Company Moves into their New Location – September 4th). They have been at the Elizabethtown location – Rally Point – since September 4th, 2020. So just a little over two years.

They took to their social media platforms this morning to make their announcement.

Their post on Facebook provides a little more information:

We are excited to announce that we are returning to our roots to focus on what matters most, brewing AND you!

We will be back full-time at the Rheems brewery taproom – commonly known as the garage – starting Tuesday, February 7, at 5 PM. Rally Point Taproom will be closed permanently beginning Saturday, January 28 at 10PM.

At the garage, we can prioritize recipe experimentation, development, and distribution. The brewery taproom will have 12 rotating beers and serve local PA wine and hearty snacks, but you also are welcome to bring your own food (BYOF). Our fantastic team is ready to welcome you “home” with their hometown hospitality.

The Garage

The garage in Rheems is their original location, and for many old school Cox Brewing Company fans and patrons they’ll remember it fondly. Its a big large open venue with an inside garage that feels very much like Cheers meets Choppers. I have fond memories of some of their anniversary events hanging out with Ron Bell and others at the garage. Looking forward to getting to come back out to the old shop.

You’ll be able to find the brewery up on the hill, back behind the house, in a garage / building bay. The address is:

276 Heisey Quarry Road, Building 1 – Bay 5
Rheems / Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania

Thanks For Reading

Thank you for reading everyone. We always appreciate having you here on the blog. Hopefully things are working well right now and you are able to read this, as I’ve been having issues with WordPress and running the blog lately. Its been glitching up, not publishing articles, doing weird glitches to old articles (making them re – publish and un – publish), and changing dates of articles. Its also not listing categories and tags correctly. So if you see any issues with the site, please let us know in the comments, that’ll help us pin down whats going on and whats going wrong and help us out. We greatly appreciate it.

Things have been busy here on the blog. Recently the podcast we did with Central PA Pour – Season 2: Episode 8 – The Beer Thrillers just went live (click that link to see that), and the Farm Show just announced their “Best in Beer” awards for 2023 (Farm Show Announces Best in Beer – 2023) click that link to see that. Our friend and sometimes writer – AJ Brechbiel – has announced the start up of a new brewery – Old Soul Brewing in Waynesboro Pennsylvania – so be sure to check that out as well. Paul R. Kan, the former owner and brewer for Burd’s Nest in Carlisle wrote us another book review, you can find that here: Book Review: A Woman’s Place is in the Brewhouse – A Forgotten History of Alewives, Brewsters, Witches, and CEOs (Tara Nurin) and Tyler Budwash, co – owner and brewer for Pilger Ruh Brewing interviewed and talked with some of his colleagues, brewers, and friends and sent us the following: Brewers and the Industry Look Into 2023.

So as you can see, 2023 is starting off hot (like the Jalagreeno beer from Tree House Brewing) with lots of different articles and events and all kinds of things from a host of sources and people. If you would like to contribute to The Beer Thrillers, you can write to us at thebeerthrillers@gmail.com and we can discuss writing or whatever you have in mind. We are always interested in getting in contact with breweries, brewers, and different ventures. So don’t be shy and be sure to reach out to us!

Thank you all for reading, and either tonight or tomorrow I’ll have the statistics breakdown of the Farm Show awards like I promised for today – but I figured this Cox Brewing Company update took precedent. Thanks for your patience.

Cheers All!
