Mad Princes Brewing Announces Upcoming Closure

Sigh…. another Pennsylvania brewery has announced that they will be closing soon. On the heels of Mellow Mink Announcing Their Upcoming Closure; Mad Princes Brewing has just announced via their social media pages that they too will be closing. Mad Princes Brewing is located in Doylestown, PA and currently has no firm date for their last day of operations. They have made recent posts about beers being put on tap. The brewery – which has no confirmed end date yet has stated they will maintain the hours they have listed on Facebook and Google, can be located at 2537 Bogarts Tavern Rd, Doylestown, PA 18902.

The Announcement

Mad Princes Brewing took to social media today to announce their upcoming closure. Their announcement reads:

Friends, it is with a sad & heavy heart that we must make an announcement that has recently become all too common in the craft brewing industry: After over 8 1/2 years, Mad Princes Brewing will be ceasing operations.
We have no firm final date as of yet, at least until the end of July, perhaps a week or two into August. It depends on how long the beer holds out and other factors. To paraphrase the great Stoic Philosopher, John “no IPAs” Rambo – “Mad Princes got themselves killed in COVID, and they didn’t even know it…”
We will miss being part of the Bucks County brewing community, participating in local Beer Festivals & events, being part of the Bucks County Ale Trail, but most of all, you, our customers. Without you, we would not have been able to share this hectic and rewarding journey together.
As a parting shot, we will be releasing later this month our final beer; the last sixtel of the 2022 “St. Lazarus Lemming” Rye Whiskey Barrel Aged Barleywine. It will be limited to two 6oz. pours per visit, no growlers (argh!). 13.8% ABV Oh, Stange glasses and Growler Drains are still available at 50% off. Seacrest out!

Mad Princes Brewing is a small, family-owned brewery located in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Founded by brothers Kurt and Brian DeLuca in 2015, the brewery has carved out a niche for itself in the local craft beer scene with its unique and eclectic approach to brewing. The DeLuca brothers, both passionate homebrewers before opening Mad Princes, have a deep appreciation for traditional brewing techniques while also experimenting with innovative and unconventional methods. This blend of respect for tradition and creative exploration is reflected in their diverse range of beer offerings, which includes everything from classic styles like IPAs and stouts to more experimental brews featuring unusual ingredients and flavor combinations.

The brewery itself is housed in a rustic, cozy building that exudes a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. The taproom is a popular spot for locals and visitors alike, offering a comfortable space to enjoy Mad Princes’ handcrafted beers. In addition to their regular lineup of beers, Mad Princes Brewing is known for its rotating selection of seasonal and limited-edition brews, ensuring that there’s always something new and exciting for patrons to try. The DeLuca brothers often engage directly with their customers, sharing stories about their brewing process and the inspiration behind their creations, fostering a strong sense of community and connection.

Mad Princes Brewing also places a strong emphasis on sustainability and supporting local agriculture. They source many of their ingredients from local farms and strive to minimize their environmental impact through various eco-friendly practices. This commitment to sustainability is an integral part of their brewing philosophy and resonates with their customer base, who appreciate not only the quality and creativity of the beers but also the brewery’s dedication to responsible practices. Through their innovative brews, welcoming atmosphere, and sustainable approach, Mad Princes Brewing has established itself as a beloved fixture in the Doylestown community and a notable player in the broader craft beer industry.

For More Information on Mad Princes Brewing

The following comes via Untappd.

Mad Princes Brewing is a microbrewery from Buckingham, PA. They have 119 unique beers and over 6,600 ratings with a global average rating of 3.67 (as of 7.8.24). Their Untappd description reads: “In a Bucks County kitchen far, far away, two brothers clinked their pints of home brew and stared down destiny with their taste buds. Their palettes charged from years in the wine and coffee industries, Jim & Kurt Ludwig sought to brew uncommon and undervalued styles of beer. As the home brewing operation expanded, they moved from Jim’s kitchen to the breezeway, then to the patio, the garage, and finally Mad Princes Brewing in Buckingham, PA. Under a roof fit for a king, Jim took the royal Manager’s seat, and Kurt donned the Brewmaster’s crown.

We are working on a massive project here at The Beer Thrillers. We are creating a map of all of the breweries across the United States. State by state we are adding maps of all of the different states with every brewery in each state. (We will eventually get to the US Territories, as well as the Canadian Provinces, and possibly more countries; as well as doing some fun maps like a map of all the breweries we’ve been to, and other fun maps.) You can find the brewery maps here:

We are also working on a project of creating printable and downloadable PDFs and resources to be able to check and keep track of all of the breweries you’ve been to. So stay tuned for that project once we are finished with the Brewery Maps of the US States.
