Cape May Brewing Company Announces They Have Acquired Flying Fish Brewing Company

Just a little under an hour ago Cape May Brewing Company took to their Facebook and Instagram accounts to make the announcement. Posting the following:

Today, we are excited to announce our plans to acquire the assets of fellow New Jersey craft brewer, Flying Fish Brewing Company.

This acquisition represents the union of two brands that charted the course for craft brewing in New Jersey with a shared foundation of entrepreneurial spirit, strong local pride, passion for innovation, and a deep appreciation for brand fans.

We are excited for this new opportunity, and we’re grateful for the teams and fans of both brands who have supported the New Jersey craft beer community over the years.

You can still purchase your favorite Cape May and Flying Fish brews at all the same places – from our respective tasting rooms to the shelves of your local distributors.

They further elaborate on their blog, stating:

“This is a massive milestone for both Cape May and Flying Fish, who we’ve long admired as a true pioneer of craft brewing in the Garden State since its founding in 1995,” says CEO and Co-founder Ryan Krill. “We are thrilled to expand our product portfolio and are approaching this acquisition with a focus on our core values, passion for brewing, and commitment to serving our customers with the highest quality brews.”

As part of the agreement, Flying Fish will continue to be distributed by its wholesale distributor partners. As for Cape May – we will continue to operate at our existing location in New Jersey, utilizing the Cape Beverage Distributing network throughout the Garden State and wholesale distributor partnerships in Pennsylvania and Delaware.

“We are excited for these new opportunities, and grateful for the teams and fans of both brands who have supported the New Jersey craft beer community over the years,” says Krill. “This may be a brand-new chapter in our company history, but it’s one that is rooted in the same values that have driven our commitment to quality, people, and refreshing brews since our founding in 2011.”

With that in mind, we decided to provide South Jersey with fresh, delicious, local beer to put New Jersey on the map as a craft beer state. In July 2011, we found our home at the Cape May Airport, excitedly purchased our forklift, and delivered our first keg of Cape May IPA to Cabanas Beach Bar and Grill. Since then, we’ve proudly crafted balanced and flavorful ales and lagers for thousands of happy locals and visitors. Throughout the year, hundreds of our beers can be found throughout New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania, and Delaware. We are proud to distribute our beers to hundreds of bars, restaurants, and liquor stores, on draft and in cans, ensuring premium freshness and excellent service. Our Tasting Room is one of the largest and most accessible in the state, with a spacious and sunny Beer Garden. You can visit our gift shop, “The Brewtique,” and take our interactive, self-guided tour. While many production breweries are only open a few hours per week, we are open daily for tours and tastings.
