Punk in Drublic Returns to Pittsburgh

Punk in Drublic is making its triumphant return to Pittsburgh for the first time since 2018. It will be held in the Sandcastle Waterpark lot and will feature bands, local craft beer, with live performances by bands as well as regional craft breweries pouring the beer themselves.

This is a Brew Ha Ha Productions event. (They have reached out to me through an intermediary about their event, for this article.)

There are a few bands announced for the show, and they include: NOFX, Pennywise, Less Than Jake, Sick of it All, Get Dead, and Stolen Wheelchairs.

Punk in Drublic was created by Fat Mike – the Frontman of NOFX and Cameron Collins (founder / creator of Brew Ha Ha Productions) a craft beer fanatic and festival promoter. The event is named after NOFX‘s classic album Punk in Drublic. The album currently has sold over one million copies.

Time To Party

The event is scheduled for October 2nd, 2021 at the Sandcastle Waterpark lot.

“Hello greater Pittsburgh area and Squirrel Hill! Fat Mike here to tell you that I’m extremely yet mildly excited to tell you that we are finally coming back to your town! AND……We’re not just gonna thumb wrestle and go to the hospital… We’re also gonna play music!!!! Whoooo!”

Fat Mike

The event is 21+ and is co-produced by Brew Ha Ha Productions and Dusky Entertainment. It will feature up to three hours of craft beer tasting – “showcasing an impressive array of local and regional breweries and craft beer”. (I have attempted to look up what breweries are going to be at the event, via Google search, Bing search, and asking in the Fueled in the Hops community, and in the Pittsburgh Beer community, and have gotten no answers on what breweries will be present. The flyers I was given as part of this sponsored article just say ‘breweries will be announced later’.)

What makes Punk In Drublic so special is the authenticity of it. True craft beer comes from local and regional breweries who are running their businesses with the same mentality as punk rock music: independent, often times controversial, and without a care in the world about how it’s ‘been done in the past.’ Punk rock is the music that much of the craft beer we drink is brewed to…it’s appropriate to have an epic event that celebrates the two!” He added, “It’s been too long that we’ve been stuck inside; it’s time for people to leave the house and get ‘punk in drublic.
