Double Nugget Nectar Releases Statewide Today
Double Nugget Nectar
By now you’ve seen that image above probably ad nauseum on your social media pages. (The photo is courtesy of Troegs Independent Craft Brewing – by the way.) The reason you’ve been seeing it everywhere is anticipation of Double Nugget Nectar finally being released with some distribution. Statewide in Pennsylvania to be exact.
This is big news for Nugget Nectar and Double Nugget Nectar fans – as this has been thee most hyped beer Troegs Brewing has released in a long time.
You can read about the hype and my beer review of the beer when it was initially released:
The Hype Train
Troegs Brewing really built up a hype train at the initial release. There was several blog posts by bloggers, both faithful Troegs followers, and Troegs haters, that posted about the hype train and crash of it. If you were there for the day of its release, it wasn’t handled the best – with the online sales, no limits on purchases, and the insanely huge line. Something new for Troegs Brewing. Unlike breweries like Burley Oak, RAR, Equilibrium, Other Half, etc; that are used to long can release lines – this was certainly something new for the Hershey brewery.
Not that I think Troegs did anything intentional; but it certainly built up a huge hype, anticipation, secondary market, and overall a lot of online talk about it.
Enough so that two years later they are doing a distribution of the beer. Something we all anticipated and saw coming back in 2021 after the huge hype train crash.
Double Nugget Nectar Releases Statewide
Double Nugget is available now in 16-ounce cans at the brewery and at distributors. Starting today – January 23rd, 2023 – the previously only once a year brewery only beer has been released statewide at distributors. Some kegs have also gone out for event use only (or til they are kicked). Distributors like Breski’s Beverage, West Connection Beer Vault, Hummelstown Beverage, Beer Zoo, Root Beer Distributor, and others have been making big announcements on their social media pages abut allotments, and how much of the limited supplies they have.
This will go fast, so be sure to grab it while you can.
Double Nugget Nectar
Straight from Troegs Brewing’s blog:
Well, it wasn’t quite that easy, but it sure was a fun balancing act. To start, we boosted the Simcoe, and this complex hop’s notes of apricot, peach rings and bright citrus are the star of the show. Azacca enters the picture to add hints of juicy orchard fruit, and Munich malt brings a bready sweetness. To strike a balancing note, Columbus joins Nugget hops, grounding this limited release with a layer of dank pine.
Troegs – Double Nugget
From Untappd:

Untappd Description: Let’s take Nugget and double it. Thanks For Reading
Thank you all for reading. Yesterday was a great day – the Bengals beat the Bills (soundly at 27 – 10), and we got to jump all around the Hackensack area of New Jersey hitting three breweries – Brix City Brewing, Hackensack Brewing, and The Alementary. Look for the travelogue of that trip either tomorrow or Wednesday.
Work is transitioning from five 8 hour days to four 10 hour days, so writing will become different for the site – possibly. Will probably try and cram in some writing in the mornings of those days I work (Tuesday – Friday) but might also get some in after work (post – 8PM), but most likely, the bulk of the writing will appear on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays – my days off.
We’ll see though; not even sure how long the scheduling will last this way either. You never know.
Anyway, thanks everyone for reading. If you can go out and find it – Double Nugget Nectar is delicious and worth the try.
Cheers All!
