Blaze Brewing Co. announces the release of the Open Mic IPA to Support Maine Musicians

Press Release:

Blaze Brewing Co. announces the release of the Open Mic IPA to support
Maine Musicians (via Maine Music Alliance) + Grand Opening of
Blaze Brewing Co. Biddeford Music Hall & Kitchen

Blaze Brewing Company, part of the Blaze Restaurant Group, located in Biddeford, Maine, is proud to announce the initial unveiling and release of the ‘Open Mic IPA,’ a limited release beer created to support Maine-based musicians and Maine-based music venues via the Maine Music Alliance.

Open Mic IPA will be on a quarterly release schedule, and every three months Blaze Brewing and Blaze Restaurant Group will donate $2,500.00 to the Maine Music Alliance, a local charity composed of music professionals and performers working to increase the awareness around the extraordinary live music venues of Maine, while providing financial aid and assistance to help keep Maine-based music venues sustainable, and Maine-based musicians creating.

The Blaze Restaurant Group, a Maine-based company owned and operated by native Matty Haskell, and his Wife Evelina, that sources local agriculture to produce wood-fired food and world class beer, was started in Bar Harbor, ME, fifteen years ago. Blaze Brewing started with a four-barrel brewhouse in Camden, Maine in 2018, and now, combined they have locations in Bangor, Bar Harbor, Blue Hill, Camden, Limington and of course now, in Biddeford, ME, with the opening of the Blaze Brewing Co. Biddeford Music Hall & Kitchen, located at 38 Pearl St, in a refurbished historic Mill at the edge of the Falls on the Saco River. The renowned brewery and restaurant group has recently partnered with The ARME Group, a regionally based music production and promotions company known for booking and promoting shows at Bayside Bowl in Portland, Threshers Brewing in Searsmont, as well as the ARME Boot Camp Festival, amongst other endeavours, to produce and promote all upcoming events at the venue, as well as spearhead the charitable effort behind the Open Mic IPA.

“We had always wanted to begin hosting music at Blaze, and with The Open Mic IPA, we wanted to also do our part in keeping the Maine music scene thriving and support the hard working musicians who perform live music and create music and art in our state. We view this as vital to our community and our place within it,” explains Matty Haskell.

On January 12th, 2024, all parties will come together to open the Music Hall in Biddeford with Grammy Winner Dave Gutter performing solo for the first show at this vibrant and intimate new music room. On January 18th, Blaze will release the Open Mic IPA and will host the first weekly “Blaze Open Mic,” sponsored by Blaze & their Open Mic IPA and in conjunction with The ARME Group. We are working on a massive project here at The Beer Thrillers. We are creating a map of all of the breweries across the United States. State by state we are adding maps of all of the different states with every brewery in each state. (We will eventually get to the US Territories, as well as the Canadian Provinces, and possibly more countries; as well as doing some fun maps like a map of all the breweries we’ve been to, and other fun maps.) You can find the brewery maps here:

We are also working on a project of creating printable and downloadable PDFs and resources to be able to check and keep track of all of the breweries you’ve been to. So stay tuned for that project once we are finished with the Brewery Maps of the US States.
