Yards Brewing Company vs Boulevard Brewing Co
Yards is Gambling Again
Yards Brewing is again out there betting big… this time on the “Big Game”. (See what I did there?) Yards Brewing Company and Boulevard Brewing Company are betting on the Super Bowl.
As per tradition with most Super Bowls, World Series, Stanley Cup Finals, NBA Championships, and other big events – local breweries will make ‘bets’ against each other.
Yards Brewing Company recently did this back in November when the Philadelphia Phillies went to the World Series.
In that bet, Yards Brewing and Saint Arnold Brewing (of Houston Texas) made wagers about taking pictures with the others merchandise and some beer. With donations going to charities local to both breweries. (See above article for more information.)
Yards Brewing vs. Boulevard Brewing
Yards Brewing announcement:
GAME ON! We’re squaring off against our friends Boulevard Brewing Company for a friendly little wager in celebration of the BIG GAME.
What’s on the line? The best beers and bites from our cities – and a charitable donation to the winning brewery’s choice of non-profit! IF KC wins, we’d send Philly’s best cheesesteaks and beer (Yards obviously), and WHEN the Birds win, we’ll be enjoying some famous KC BBQ and BLVD beer in Philly.
Is KC known for its BBQ?

Big game beer bet with buds!
We’re squaring off against our friends, Yards Brewing Co. for a friendly little wager in celebration of the big game.
What’s on the line? The best beers and bites from our cities – and a charitable donation to the winning brewery’s choice of a non-profit! If KC wins, we’ll be enjoying cheesesteaks and Yards beers, and if it goes the other way , we’ll be sending famous KC BBQ and BLVD beer to our friends in Philly.
Because a little friendly competition is always fun.

This Sunday is Super Bowl LVII. Gametime is 6:30PM (EST) on February 12th, 2023. The “Big Game” pits Kansas City Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles.
Dogfish Head Craft Brewing will have their own Super Bowl ad playing during the game. You can read more about that here:
Its always fun to see breweries do these bets with each other, especially when it helps out local charities. Its a win – win for everyone involved. The breweries, the charities, the fans, everyone.
Shame this year my Bengals couldn’t beat the Chiefs in the AFC game to make it to the Super Bowl. Could have gotten a Yards vs. Urban Artifact bet, or Yards vs. Moerlein Lager House, or Yards vs. Rhinegeist, or Yards vs. Taft’s Ale House. Sigh. There is a lot of great Cincinnati Breweries… (The Beer Thrillers in Cincinnati).
There’s always next year.

So what’s everyone’s big Super Bowl plans? (Oops… I mean – the Big Game… hope the NFL doesn’t send me a cease and desist letter over that.) Shame my Bengals didn’t make it to the Super Bowl this year. Would have been fun to finally get out Bengals vs. Eagles game which in the Kline household would be interesting (my parents and sister are big Eagles fans; my brother in law is a big Bills fan, and I’m a big Bengals fan).
But sadly that didn’t work out this year. Eagles did their part, we just couldn’t pull it off.
Though honestly, I’m not sure if the Bengals could beat the Eagles. I don’t think Chiefs can either. I’ll make my bold prediction here: Eagles: 24 – Chiefs: 17.
Fingers crossed for my parents and a ton of locals and friends anyway that my prediction is right. It has certainly been a good year though for Philly fans. Phillies in the World Series in November (2022) and now Eagles in Super Bowl LVII (February 2023). Hell of a good run for a city that finds itself usually on the short end of the stick.
I guess we should all keep our fingers crossed that there still will be a Philadelphia after they win. (I joke… sort of.)
It is interesting and sort of funny seeing just how many local breweries and Pennsylvania based breweries are suddenly releasing Eagles themed beers (and by Eagles themed beers, I mean IPAs and other such beers that they just quickly renamed in time for the Super Bowl).
Hopefully everyone is having a nice mild winter like we are here in Central PA, staying warm, enjoying some good beers, survived dry January if you did that, and hopefully will have a fun, safe, and enjoyable Super Bowl in eight days.
Thank you everyone for reading!
Cheers All!
