Tortured Souls Brewing Company is starting a kickstarting campaign to try and raise funds to get their brewery off the ground. Its been a hot minute, but you might have read about them here on the blog from the COUCH BREWERY CLOSING article. They were announced (or originally planned) to be going into the old Couch Brewery location; but instead – that ended up being where Arboretum Trail Brewing Company started up their brewery.
Thus meaning – Tortured Souls Brewing Company needs a new location. From their Facebook page just a little bit ago:
“A picture is worth a thousand words……..get on board with our Kickstarter to be one of the very first people to have a pint with us here!!!!”

Their story reads:
“Tortured Souls Brewing Company needs your help to create a unique entertainment experience for the City of Pittsburgh. Owners Angela and Scott Wyman are in the process of applying their 10+ years of home brewing experience and business acumen to converting a large church into a one-of-a-kind space. In the Sanctuary Tap Room patrons will enjoy spacious bar seating and an open floor plan for parties of all sizes. Guests who are looking for a quieter and more intimate experience can reserve time in the Red Room, a private space located beneath the Sanctuary for small parties and get-togethers. Patrons will also be able to enjoy their time seated in the outdoor patio area. The brewery will host local artists, musicians, and performers. The brewery is also proud to announce a partnership with Community Kitchen Pittsburgh, a local non-profit organization that will use our kitchen as an apprenticeship site for those who are looking to open their own locations and need a place to hone their craft. Backers are needed for this project in order to spread the word, help with startup costs, and fund additional upgrades to the space. Tortured Souls Brewing Company (TSBC) is ready to bring you an experience unlike any other in the Pittsburgh area.
Our vision is becoming a reality!! Tortured Souls will be making its home in Sharpsburg, Pennsylvania!! You will soon be able to find us occupying the old First English Lutheran Church on North Main Street, right down the street from two other prestigious breweries and 4four6 Distillery, a women-owned craft distillery. The space is also right across the bridge from the trendy Lawrenceville section of Pittsburgh. We are proud to be partnering with Community Kitchen Pittsburgh to provide a full-menu eating experience like no other. The property will also serve as home to a concert and event venue.
Have you maybe heard about us already? Tortured Souls Brewing has already started to make its name and brand known through social media, a website with available merchandise (torturedsoulsbrewing.com) and making a debut at one of Pittsburgh’s original beer fests, Big Pour ’21, a fundraising event held at and for Construction Junction. TSBC has also poured at Botany & Booze 2022 in May at Beers of the Burgh Festival (Carrie Furnace) on 6/11/2022.
TSBC is an artisanal brewery (yes we know most of them are but it still sounds cool) that makes contemporary craft beers and seltzers. TSBC remembers the beer that brought us to today and will offer brews based on traditional styles that the foundation of Pittsburgh was built upon. TSBC will strive to bring a fresh experience every time you walk through the door. TSBC will be introducing and serving unique beer cocktails designed in collaboration with local Pennsylvania distillers and wineries to showcase their product and create synergy between businesses. Small businesses UNITE!!!!
