Samuel Adams is bringing a fresh release to craft beer lovers with their latest brew, Cheers to Cincy. This new German pilsner-style lager celebrates Cincinnati, OH, and is crafted in collaboration between the brewery’s Boston and Cincinnati locations. The can design spotlights one of Ohio’s largest murals, making it a standout tribute to the Queen City.

This release is part of the Brewing the American Dream homebrew contest, where passionate homebrewers get the opportunity to showcase their talent alongside one of America’s most iconic breweries. Packaged in convenient 12oz cans, Cheers to Cincy offers a refreshing taste with a touch of Cincinnati’s vibrant culture.

Samuel Adams is working on a new Utopias creation, coming soon, from Samuel Adams (Boston Beer Company) in Boston, MA.

Coffee Bean WeeTopias and it will be a Wee Heavy-style ale age with coffee beans and cascara (dried coffee fruit skins from Deeper Roots Coffee) in Samuel Adams Utopias barrels. The beer will be packaged in bomber bottles (750ml bottles) to celebrate their taproom anniversary.

This wee heavy-style is brewed with fresh coffee beans and cascara, dried coffee fruit skins, from @deeperrootsdrc and then aged in Utopias barrels. Winter Time

We’re due for snow – and I mean S-N-O-W – on Saturday. (Of course we are, the Farm Show kicks off tomorrow – Friday, so of course we would be getting snow.) Winter Lager is the epitome of winter time for me. This dates back to one of the earliest craft beers I got into, and felt like now is as good as any time to dive into and pick it apart for a healthy beer review.

History of Winter Lager

Samuel Adams Winter Lager has a rich history, having been first brewed in 1989 as one of Samuel Adams’ initial seasonal beers, alongside Octoberfest. This early introduction marked the beer as a pioneer in the realm of seasonal craft brews. Brewed in the style of a Bock, the Winter Lager is designed to be more malt-forward and darker than other popular lagers, setting it apart as a distinctive and flavorful option for the winter months.

With Utopias by Sam Adams coming out again, I thought it’d be a great time to look at some of the highest ABV beers out there on the market. Its one of the most frequent questions I see and get here at the blog too.

Typically most think its Utopias because its the most recognizable high – ABV beer. But surprisingly it actually only comes in at number five on the list. So let’s take a look at the Top 5 Highest ABV Beers.

Extreme ABV Beers

And there’s still plenty more extreme ABV beers out there. Many in the 20% range, and Dogfish Head has several stouts and IPAs that clock in around the 16 – 18% mark. And breweries are coming up with new beers all the time, so be on the look out for new and exciting extreme ABV beers in the future.
