What has become tradition, hundreds of guests are welcomed by the beloved local brewery, looking to take home four different varieties of their rare liquid, available for one day only.

Black Friday Snakes – 2025

A yearlong planning process culminates into one of the biggest beer release events in Southeast Wisconsin, Lakefront Brewery’s Black Friday.

“We typically start discussing next year’s Black Friday beer pretty shortly after the current year”, says Luther Paul, Lakefront’s Head Brewer, “with these beers needing several months to age properly in barrels, it’s a year-round labor of love creating the finest liquid we can for those making the trek to see us that day.”

Attendees line up as early as the night before to ensure a chance at their desired allotment of Black Fridaybeer. Many have turned it into a tradition, collecting multiple years of Black Fridayto share with friends and family over the holidays and beyond. Lakefront will be offering their famous Black Friday Burrito and coffee out of their food truck starting at 6am. Lakefront Brewery co-founders Russ and Jim Klisch will open their doors at 8am when sales begin. “It’s one of my favorite moments of the year”, says Brewery President Russ Klisch, “the excitement outside our doors is undeniable, you have to experience it”.

For the third year in a row, Lakefront is excited to announce the return of the Warm Hearts Community Coat Drive benefiting students of George Washington Carver Elementary. Guests who donate a laundered, gently used coat suitable for youth ages 3 to 14 years will receive one bottle/can of a retro Black Friday™. Guests may donate additional coats with a maximum of 2 bottles/cans per donor over 21. Coats will be accepted conditionally at Lakefront Brewery’s discretion to ensure immediate wearability. They also encourage donors to bring colorful, youth-appropriate items, especially coats for girls and young teen women, giving students the dignity of choice. Gloves, hats, and other winter gear will gladly be accepted as well. All week long, guests can also round up their bill to donate to the school.

For the 8th year in a row, the local curd-frying masters, who continue to gain notoriety for their fried cheese curds, will be celebrating with specialty curd flavors and a free Cheese Curd Pull Competition.

Curd Day 2025

MILWAUKEE (September 24th, 2025) – The importance of the cheese curd to the people of Wisconsin cannot be understated. They can be found in just about every commercial kitchen across the state. Since 2013, Lakefront Brewery has been producing some of the most award-winning fried cheese curds in the Midwest, churning out over 60,000 orders in a calendar year. Join Lakefront in celebrating National Cheese Curd Day on Wednesday, October 15th from 2pm to 9pm.

Alongside their gold-standard beer-battered curds with garlic ranch, Lakefront has been offering a Cheese Curd of the Month. Every month, a new specialty flavored curd is available to order from their kitchen. In addition to their beer-battered favorites, on Curd Day, Lakefront will also be offering 3 specialty flavors as potential Curd of the Month options in 2026. Help them decide which ones need an encore!

Chicken N’ Waffle Curds – A breakfast-inspired item everyone can get behind. Sweet waffle-battered and fried with 11 secret savory spices, then served with a ribbon of spicy maple bacon syrup. Pairs with their Riverwest Stein Amber Lager.

French Onion Curds
– A cheese curd twist on Wisconsin’s favorite supper club soup. Beer and onion battered cheese curds with garlic crouton-fried breading served with a side of rich onion gravy. Pairs with their Lakefront IPA.

Caramel Apple Cheesecake Curds
– Their dessert curds have become fan-favorites over the years. Fresh cheese curds tossed in a sweet batter with graham cracker breading. Topped with streusel, caramel drizzle, and served with a side of delicate vanilla cream. Pairs with their Eastside Dark Lager.

All 4 options will be available in their standard portion size, usually good for 2 to 3 people. Guests can order all 3 of the above specialty flavors (or all 4 options) for a discount.

That’s not all. Lakefront is excited to announce the return of their Cheese Curd Pull Competition for teams of 2! Choose the “stretchiest” curd from the basket, step up to the pull markers, and test your dexterity against a field of other competitors.  The team with the longest cheese curd string from each contest will receive 2 $15 gift cards from Lakefront Brewery. Free to enter, sign up at their entrance.

It’s time to make plans, how will you be celebrating?

MILWAUKEE DIAPER MISSION IS BACK AT LAKEFRONT BREWERY, LOOKING TO PILE THE DIAPERS EVEN HIGHER https://thebeerthrillers.com/2025/01/28/milwaukee-diaper-mission-is-back-at-lakefront-brewery-looking-to-pile-the-diapers-even-higher/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=milwaukee-diaper-mission-is-back-at-lakefront-brewery-looking-to-pile-the-diapers-even-higher Tue, 28 Jan 2025 18:35:36 +0000 https://thebeerthrillers.com/?p=15909 MILWAUKEE DIAPER MISSION IS BACK AT LAKEFRONT BREWERY, LOOKING TO PILE THE DIAPERS EVEN HIGHER

MILWAUKEE DIAPER MISSION IS BACK AT LAKEFRONT BREWERY, LOOKING TO PILE THE DIAPERS EVEN HIGHER. Lakefront and Milwaukee Diaper Mission team up for their 3rd annual diaper drive, after 2 successful events in 2023 and 2024.

Lakefront Brweery Diaper Drive 2025

Lakefront Brewery’s 2024 diaper drive was the 2nd biggest donation intake event for Milwaukee Diaper Mission bringing in 9,300 diapers and over 19,000 wipes. Lakefront is eyeing that top spot and is asking the community to help get diapers into the hands of the people who need them most.

“Milwaukee Diaper Mission has been such a local hero to the Milwaukee community”, says Liz Mauritz, Lakefront’s Ripple Effect donation program coordinator, “they continue to grow and expand their reach, so we’re excited to support their continued success. Learning how many caretakers struggle with such a basic need as diapers is heartbreaking. Our diaper drives give us that avenue to activate our space and make a difference. As a family-friendly establishment, we see this as an opportunity to give back.”

On Sunday, February 16th, bring in as many unopened, fully packaged, disposable diapers as you want to Lakefront Brewery from 11AM to 4PM and receive Lakefront cash in return. For every diaper you donate, you will receive $.25 (25 cents) in Lakefront Brewery gift cards to spend in their Beer Hall that day or any day in the future. Lakefront will also be accepting fully packaged baby wipes and training pants, giving out $.25 for each pair of training pants and for every 10 wipes. Milwaukee Diaper Mission will accept all applicable items they can help distribute but please be aware that diapers, training pants, and wipes will be the only items accepted for Lakefront Brewery gift cards.

Milwaukee Diaper Mission does note that they’re most in need of 2, 3, 5, and 6-size diapers. If you can’t make it down to Lakefront but still want to show your support? Visit Milwaukee Diaper Mission’s website here: https://www.milwaukeediapermission.org/

Milwaukee Diaper Mission is a basic needs bank. They partner with local social service agencies to provide a reliable source of essentials, including diapers, something that shouldn’t be considered a luxury, but a need. One in two families in the U.S. lack the funds to keep up with their diaper needs. Milwaukee Diaper Mission utilizes a distribution model that is efficient and cost-effective, ensuring that diapers get in the hands of those who need them most.

Lakefront Brewery’s Baltic Porter

Lakefront’s new Brewers’ Reserve Baltic Porter Aged in Port Barrels releases this Friday, while supplies last, only at the brewery.

The tenth in the series for Lakefront Brewery, their Brewers’ Reserves are packaged in 12 oz. cans and are only available at their Beer Hall. These limited rare beers allow their brewhouse wizards to experiment with niche-barrel-aged styles concocting inspired treats for your enjoyment.

A descendant of the English Porter, Baltic Porters offer a more robust and sweeter flavor profile perfect for some time spent in a port wine barrel. This dark, cocoa-brown, cold-fermented lager, weaves together layers of malt, toffee, and molasses. The port wine barrel-aging adds flavors of oak plank, vanilla, dried fruit, and marzipan. The ideal pairing for your favorite winter comfort meal or that cozy night by the fire.

Lakefront will be releasing this Brewers’ Reserve this Friday, December 20th just in time for the holidays and any last-minute gifting needs. This liquid gold comes in at a session-able 6.5% and becomes available in their online ordering menu starting at 9am that day, when you can schedule a pickup time over the weekend. The cans will also be available for purchase at their main bar when they open their doors at 11am, while supplies last. Single cans to-go will run you $3 + tax. A 6-pack will cost $15 + tax.

Click HERE to access their online ordering menu on December 20th.
