Add Another Brewery To Your To – Do List — Soon

Coming this fall, to Reamstown Pennsylvania will be another new brewery to visit – Rural City Beer Co. They are currently shooting for an end of November opening. They will be located in the former Union Barrel Work Brew Pub; at 6 North Reamstown Road. You can find it here on Google Maps: 6 North Reamstown Road, Reamstown Pennsylvania.

James and Ben Burton

I got to meet the Burtons over the years at Justin Hoak’s house for a beer share or two, and as well at various brewfests like the Renaissance Brewfest, the Lititz Brewfest, and others. Both have a good pedigree of brewing behind them. Both started as home brewers before moving on to brewing and working professionally – James has worked at Swashbuckler Brewing, while Ben has worked for both Chatty Monks Brewing and now Mad Chef Brewing.

Reamstown, PA

Reamstown PA is located just a bit East of Ephrata and has a lot of other great breweries in the area, so will be an added welcome to a brewery tour or trip in the area. Especially given the diverse and good brewing pedigree that the Burtons will bring to the table. Reamstown is one of many old school old Dutch towns, with a small local population (according to the 2010 census they have a population of 3,361). It has that “old hometown” American feel, with the old school buildings that we all recognize from old movies and “down home America”.

Its still a part of the ‘717’ area code and is not too far of a drive from big cities like Harrisburg (about an hour), Lancaster (half an hour), Morgantown (twenty minutes), Lebanon (half an hour to thirty-five minutes), and Philadelphia (hour and a half or so).

In the area is other breweries such as: Black Forest Brewing, Pour Man’s Brewing, St. Boniface Brewing, Fetish Brewing, and the Appalachian Brewing Company at Lititz.
