Please Join Us

Please come out and join us. In addition to getting a great meal (Troegs Brewing did just release their new fall menu) and some wonderful beers you also get to help a wonderful cause like the Hops and Vines for Hunger.

Hops and Vines for Hunger

The following comes from their campaign (Our Programs) page:

Pennsylvania boasts over 800 breweries and wineries combined across the state — and that number is growing. But just as these numbers are increasing, so are the number of food insecure families and individuals across Pennsylvania. In fact, nearly 2 million Pennsylvanians struggle with hunger every day – including nearly 500,000 children.

That’s why Feeding Pennsylvania, PA Eats, and Breweries in PA are joining forces with local breweries and wineries across the state through Hops & Vines for Hunger — a month-long, statewide fundraiser throughout November. The campaign will aim to:

  • Raise funds to maximize the work of Feeding Pennsylvania’s 9 member food banks and serve Pennsylvanians facing hunger;
  • Support the development of nutrition education resources created by PA Eats to educate food-insecure Pennsylvanians on how to prepare simple, accessible meals with affordable, healthy ingredients commonly found in food pantries;
  • Promote the support of local breweries and wineries across the Commonwealth.

We are working on a massive project here at The Beer Thrillers. We are creating a map of all of the breweries across the United States. State by state we are adding maps of all of the different states with every brewery in each state. (We will eventually get to the US Territories, as well as the Canadian Provinces, and possibly more countries; as well as doing some fun maps like a map of all the breweries we’ve been to, and other fun maps.) You can find the brewery maps here:

We are also working on a project of creating printable and downloadable PDFs and resources to be able to check and keep track of all of the breweries you’ve been to. So stay tuned for that project once we are finished with the Brewery Maps of the US States.

The Beer Thrillers are Joining the Hops and Vines for Hunger Cause

As you might have seen on the Hops and Vines for Hunger Facebook and / or Instagram pages today – The Beer Thrillers have joined their cause.

As we covered in our previous article – Hops and Vines for Hunger (2023) – Hops and Vines for Hunger reached out to us letting us know this year they were actively trying to get bloggers, content creators, and influencers to join the cause – alongside breweries, wineries, and distilleries.

Hops and Vines for Hunger

The campaign aims to:

  • Raise funds to maximize the work of Feeding Pennsylvania’s nine member food banks and serve Pennsylvanians facing hunger
  • Support the development of nutrition education resources created by PA Eats to educate food-insecure Pennsylvanians on how to prepare simple, accessible meals with affordable, healthy ingredients commonly found in food pantries
  • Promote the support of local breweries and wineries across the Commonwealth

This is a month long fundraiser in November and they have been doing it yearly now for a few years.

Registration is now closed for new members to join adding their name to the cause – but you can still help. You can donate through the numerous breweries, wineries, distilleries, bloggers, content creators, YouTubers, and Influencers who have joined this great cause.

The Beer Thrillers

We will be writing several articles promoting various breweries and their contributions and programs to raise money for the Hops and Vines for Hunger program and cause – as well as thinking and finding ways of our own to participate and donate to the cause.

So please join us in bringing attention to this great cause and helping us promote, help, donate, and help it grow. Stay tuned with us for more information and more articles.

Jim Thorpe Brewing Needs Your Support https://thebeerthrillers.com/2023/06/30/jim-thorpe-brewing-needs-your-support/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=jim-thorpe-brewing-needs-your-support Fri, 30 Jun 2023 12:59:14 +0000 https://thebeerthrillers.com/?p=11849
Jim Thorpe Brewing Company is Looking for Your Help

A Brewery In Search of a Tap Room

Jim Thorpe Brewing Company is a brewery in search of a tap room. This is pretty essential for most breweries (some breweries choose to forego having a tap room, and just produce and distribute their beer – but most small micro breweries prefer having a taste room and producing and keeping their beer in house).

The Jim Thorpe Brewing Company is currently looking to get their tap room started and opened in (obviously) the town of Jim Thorpe. But they need the support of friends, family, customers, supporters, and the people of Jim Thorpe and the craft beer community to help them.

Support Jim Thorpe Brewing Company

Trattoria in Jim Thorpe, PA

Thats why they took to Facebook this morning, asking for support from their friends, families, customers, the people of Jim Thorpe, and the craft beer community.

You can read their call for support here:

We want to thank everyone who supports us and our brews. That being said we need your support. As everyone knows we’ve been searching for a taproom location so we can serve all of our patrons and we thought we had a perfect location. However, while we’ve had an agreement of sale on Trattoria 903, it’s been more than an easy sell to close. Barry Westington, from Community Bank NA , holds the notes and offered to sell them to us for principal value, waiving all legal and back interest. So, I was able to get an extension from the owner for the purchase which would close the real estate deal and pay the debts ( Including some liens). However, Barry’s thought is “I’ll sell you the notes so you can foreclose on them and, not pay other claims at all”. We can’t understand why they would agree for us to buy the notes and screw the others with liens but not waive the same fees so we can make the sale possible, pay those who performed the work, and not support other small businesses. That is not something morally the Jim Thorpe Brewing Company would ever do. We’d love for everyone to reach out to Community Bank, and Barry Westington, in particular to express your support for us and for them to support their verbal commitment to us. Kweza Craft Brewery from Rwanda

Kweza Craft Brewery

Today is Giving Tuesday, and theres no better time then to bring up on the blog about ‘Kweza Craft Brewery’ in Rwanda. Firstly, you can go directly to there IndieGoGo site and give a donation right here: Kweza Brewing on IndieGoGo. You can read about their story from IndieGoGo here:

We’re Rwanda’s first craft beer brewery. We’re women owned, led, brewed, and cheffed. We make beers that are delicious, and tell a story – from the roots of African women making sorghum beer, to using local crops and plants such as sorghum, ginger, mangoes, and jasmine to make a variety of light ales, IPAs, stouts, with more variety to come.

Women have traditionally made beer in most cultures around the world, but not been able to benefit from that creation and lineage at the commercial level. Kweza aims to have women running all aspects of the business. Our goal is that women have the profit from the product they’ve always made, and can build generational wealth on that history. Learn more about how we’re accomplishing this on our website and by watching this webinar we held on Women Brewing Beer in History, Africa, and Rwanda (with Kweza Craft Brewery)

In 2016, Fina Uwineza, a Rwandan entrepreneur, and Steve Beauchesne, CEO of Beau’s Brewery, launched a Kickstarter to fund the purchase of a bottling line.  We’ve grown the project, purchased a bottling line AND an entire brewery worth of equipment! Read and watch more of the original Kickstarter here!

Kweza on IndieGoGo

First Sip Brew Box

While on my trip through New Jersey (while actually being on the ferry) I reached out to Dennis Guy and he quickly responded, about how First Sip brew Box is helping Kweza Craft Brewery. They are working on distributing world wide merchandise for the brewery, as well as helping their crowd funding efforts. As per their marketing brochure on a Google Doc, they are “handling the fulfillment of brewery swag for Kweza brewery.” First Sip is also working with artists to help create merchandise for the project as well.

The Beer Thrillers Getting the Word Out, and How You Can Help

We will be doing more articles in the near future, including our donation, and what all goes into that donation, and what that donation does for the brewery and its upstart. We are looking to do several articles spaced out in the near future, and hopefully some interviews as well (with brewers, builders, and workers on the project). Please stay tuned.

To read more about Kweza Craft Brewery, you can follow them through these channels:

To learn more, and read more about First Sip Brew Box, and what they are doing for Kweza Craft Brewery, you can follow them here:

Please join us in making a donation and helping this wonderful cause, today on Giving Tuesday.

Thanks For Reading

Thank you everyone for reading, this closes out November, and our daily articles. Hopefully I can keep up the pace and maintain a good amount of articles for everyone to read. Also, hopefully you’ll all stay tuned and stay with us. Cheers!

New Mandates and Urge to Support Local https://thebeerthrillers.com/2020/12/10/new-mandates-and-urge-to-support-local/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=new-mandates-and-urge-to-support-local Thu, 10 Dec 2020 23:47:40 +0000 https://thebeerthrillers.com/?p=6328 It is now 6:30PM, and just a few hours ago, Governor Wolfe issued new mandates for the state of Pennsylvania. Starting Friday night into Saturday at midnight there will be no more indoor dining, casinos, gyms, etc, are closed; bars, restaurants, and breweries can only do outdoor dining and to-go or takeout.

(There is more restrictions / mandates, but that’s what is relevant to this blog.)

What I want to do here and now is to urge everyone to shop local. Don’t go to McDonalds for your food, or buy Coors Lite or Miller or In-Bev. Buy from your local restaurant, your local brewery, your local drinking hole, and tip, help those who will be hurting. This is a big time of the year for restaurants (up til New Years Day). They need all the support they can get right now.

Support local craft beer. Drink and help your local favorite brewery. We are all in this together, as cliche as that sounds, but we all need to do everything we can to help our local and small breweries survive these tough and troubling times.

Please mask up when you go in for your take out and to-go. Be respectful and kind to the service and staff and the help. Tip as much as you can. Buy as much as you can. Share their posts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter. Review them highly if they deserve it and are doing the right procedures. Support as best and as much as you are able.

Support. Support. Support. Help. Help. Help. I can’t stress these things enough. Be kind to everyone. Be helpful to everyone. Lets get through this together!

Cheers all. And best wishes and hopes for all those in industry jobs. I know how it is working at a casino, that will be shutting down til January 4th as well. This is a scary and troubling time. Let’s all pitch in and help each other!
