Memorial Day

Memorial Day is a special occasion when America pauses to honor the brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives in service to our Armed Forces.

It also signifies the unofficial beginning of summer, a season for cookouts and gatherings with friends and family over food and drinks. To make these celebrations even better, you’re going to need beer. Here are some fantastic new craft beer variety packs that are making buying in bulk exciting again!

Variety Packs

Perfect for Memorial Day picnics, get togethers, and grilling hamburgers and hotdogs on the grill – variety packs are a perfect pick-up item to grab at your local brewery (or grocery store or beverage distributor) and bring to that shindig.

Craft beer variety packs have become increasingly popular among beer enthusiasts and casual drinkers alike. These packs offer a selection of different beers from a single brewery, providing an excellent way to explore a range of flavors and styles without committing to a full six-pack of one type. For newcomers to the craft beer scene, variety packs serve as a gateway to discovering personal preferences, whether it be hoppy IPAs, rich stouts, or refreshing pilsners. This diversity within a single purchase can turn any beer tasting into a mini-adventure, perfect for gatherings and parties.

Beyond the sheer enjoyment of diverse flavors, craft beer variety packs also showcase the creativity and skill of the brewers. Many breweries use these packs to highlight seasonal or limited-edition brews alongside their core offerings. This not only gives drinkers a chance to taste unique and experimental beers but also helps breweries gain feedback on new recipes. The inclusion of special and sometimes exclusive beers in these packs can drive excitement and anticipation among craft beer fans, making the act of unboxing and sampling each beer a thrilling experience.

Additionally, craft beer variety packs are an economical choice for those looking to stock up for events or simply fill their fridge. Buying in bulk often comes with cost savings compared to purchasing individual packs of different beers. Moreover, these packs are convenient, offering an all-in-one solution for catering to diverse tastes within a group. Whether for a casual barbecue, a festive celebration, or a quiet night of beer tasting, craft beer variety packs provide a versatile and appealing option that enhances the enjoyment of high-quality, artisanal beers.

Summer of Sunshine

Troegs Brewing Summer of Sunshine Variety Pack

Hershey, Pennsylvania-based Tröegs Independent Brewing is embracing summer with a new variety 15-pack that includes a beloved year-round classic and four exclusive beers available only in the Summer of Sunshine Variety 15-Pack.

Here’s how the brewery describes the contents:

  • Sunshine Pilsner (4.5% ABV) – This award-winning American craft pilsner features a complex balance of two-row barley, zesty Saaz hops, and lager yeast. Secondary fermentation creates natural carbonation, delivering soft notes of fresh-cut straw and flowering herbs.
  • Sunshine Salt + Lime Lager (4.3% ABV) – This bright and crisp lager offers a zesty hint of lime and a touch of salt, perfect for transporting you to the shore. Exclusive to the Summer of Sunshine Variety Pack, it’s the ideal beach beer.
  • Summer’s Here Lager (4.2% ABV) – Made with pilsner malt and flaked rice, this exclusive lager employs krausening for a crisp finish and subtle fruity esters. Dry-hopped with Citra and Saaz, it showcases notes of bright citrus, lemon rind, and flowering herbs in a pale white-gold brew.
  • Leisure Cruise Raspberry Wheat (4.7% ABV) – This Raspberry Wheat Ale is a classic lighter-bodied beer with big flavor. Real raspberries added after fermentation ensure bright pops of fruit are front and center.
  • Perpetual Haze (7.5% ABV) – Combining the clean, crisp bitterness of a West Coast IPA with the softness of a hazy, this beer features pale malts for underlying complexity. Raw wheat, London 3 yeast, and vigorous dry-hopping create a haze that cradles a citrusy hop blend, with Citra and Cashmere unlocking juicy notes of orange, passionfruit, and nectarine.

Perpetual Exploration Variety Pack Volume 2

Perpetual Exploration Volume 2

If IPAs are your thing, the Tröegs Perpetual Exploration Variety Pack Volume 2 offers a fantastic selection of the brewery’s finest India Pale Ales, including:

  • Tröegs Perpetual IPA (7.5% ABV) – This Imperial Pale Ale is perpetually cycled using the brewery’s HopBack vessel and dry-hopping technology, creating a robust beer that can withstand the season’s cooling temperatures.
  • Tröegs Graffiti Highway (6% ABV) – This India Pale Ale features bright citrus and tropical fruit notes. Like many of Tröegs’ beers, this IPA began as a series of test batches in the brewery’s Research & Development brewhouse, known as the Scratch Lab.
  • Tröegs Field Study (6.2% ABV) – A slightly hazy IPA with vibrant grapefruit, mango, pear, and melon notes, it evolved from the brewery’s small-batch, experimental Scratch Series.
  • Tröegs LolliHop (8.2% ABV) – This Imperial IPA boasts a slightly hazy character with bright notes of pear, citrus, and a hint of melon, built on a sturdy foundation of Pennsylvania-grown Rustic pale malt.

Some of the Troegs best summer time IPAs all in one package. Perfect for the unofficial kick off to the summer. Troegs Brewing is open Memorial Day – 11:30 AM to 9:00 PM.

Dogfish Head Off Centered Variety Pack

Dogfish Head Off Centered Variety Pack

Milton, Delaware-based Dogfish Head’s Variety Pack features two fan-favorites, 60 Minute IPA and Slightly Mighty, along with the new Tasty Traveler Lager, and the Delaware-centric Blue Hen Pilsner, a beer developed at its small-batch brewpub in Rehoboth.

  • 60 Minute IPA (6.0% ABV) – This IPA is continually hopped for 60 minutes with a boatload of intense Northwest hops. The result is a brew that is abundantly hoppy without being overly bitter, showcasing bold citrusy and grassy hop flavors.
  • Slightly Mighty (4.9% ABV) – The top-selling lo-cal IPA in America, Slightly Mighty is a full-flavored IPA with just 95 calories per can. Brewed with a hint of monk fruit for added body and complexity, it delivers tropical notes of pineapple, coconut, mango, and citrus while being light in calories and carbohydrates.
  • Tasty Traveler Lager (5% ABV) – Making its debut, Tasty Traveler is a crisp, refreshing lager brewed with Oaxacan green corn, Baja Salicornia, sea salt, and Mexican lime juice, offering a unique and invigorating flavor profile.
  • Blue Hen Pilsner (4.8% ABV) – This crisp and refreshing pilsner is brewed with just four ingredients: water, yeast, earthy Saaz hops, and Delaware-grown and malted barley. The label pays homage to Dogfish Head’s home state, featuring the Delaware state bird and colors reminiscent of the Delaware state flag.

Widmer Brothers Hefe Variety Pack

Widmer Brothers Hefe Variety Pack

Portland, Oregon-based Widmer Brothers Brewing is celebrating Memorial Day Weekend with a new variety 12-pack that highlights their renowned American Wheat Beer style. The Widmer Brothers’ Hefe Variety Pack includes their flagship Hefeweizen along with several unique wheat ale variations.

Here’s what’s inside:

  • Hefe (4.9% ABV) – First brewed in 1986, Hefe was a groundbreaking creation for the Widmer Brothers. With its floral citrus notes, naturally cloudy body, and refreshing finish, Hefe was unlike anything they had ever tasted. This golden, cloudy brew became an international staple of craft brewing, known as America’s Original Hefeweizen.
  • Imperial Hefe (8.0% ABV) – A bolder version of the original American Hefeweizen, Imperial Hefe features a high ABV of 8.0% and prominent tropical hop notes. This beer exemplifies balance, offering a bold wheat flavor while remaining smooth, delicious, and elegant.
  • Widberry Hefe (4.9% ABV) – Infused with the sweet and juicy flavors of blackberries, Widberry Hefe combines these luscious berries with their signature wheat beer, capturing the essence of summer in a can. Refreshingly smooth and fruity, it offers a unique drinking experience.
  • Apricot Hefe (4.9% ABV) – Originally introduced as Velvet Summer, the brewery’s summer seasonal in 2023, this fan-favorite is now available year-round in the variety pack. Brewed with sun-kissed apricots, Apricot Hefe delivers a refreshingly fruity, bright, and juicy flavor profile perfect for any season.

Purchasing

Each of the variety packs can be bought at their respective breweries (Troegs Brewing in Hershey, PA; Dogfish Head Craft Brewery in Milton, Delaware and Rehobeth Beach, Delaware; and Widmer Brothers in Portland, Oregon). As well as the Dogfish Head and Troegs Brewing variety packs are in their full distribution footprints (look for it in Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Maryland, Washington DC, and surrounding areas). The Widmer Brothers Variety Pack is located throughout their distribution footprint in the upper Northwest Corner of the United States. As well as in select stores throughout the country.

The Battle of the Breweries (2024): Preliminary Qualifiers https://thebeerthrillers.com/2024/02/26/the-battle-of-the-breweries-2024-preliminary-qualifiers/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=the-battle-of-the-breweries-2024-preliminary-qualifiers Mon, 26 Feb 2024 13:58:56 +0000 https://thebeerthrillers.com/?p=14463

The Preliminary Qualifiers

The Battle of the Breweries – 2024

Lets get this thing started! Its time to RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMMBLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

The 2024 Battle of the Breweries is officially kicking off —– NOW — with the preliminary qualifiers. Each of the four conferences: Bravo, Crystal, Fuggle, and Galaxy, are hosting a single fatal four-way “win and you’re in” match. These are sixteen breweries that we have not been to yet, and will be traveling to and visiting in 2024 (or at the latest – early 2025). The winner of each of the four fatal four-ways will be added as the 32nd seed to their respective conference. (ie. winner of the Bravo fatal four way will become the 32nd seed in the Bravo conference, etc.)

The Battle of the Breweries (2024) is set up with four conferences of 32 (counting the “win and you’re in” brewery) for a total of 128 breweries in the main tournament (140 participating breweries in total). They will compete in single elimination rounds (Best of 32, Best of 16, Best of 8, Final Four, Finals) for each conference, before each conference will send their winner to the “Finals Fatal Four-Way” to determine the winner of this year’s Battle of the Breweries.

Breweries will be competing from Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, Arizona, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and the District of Columbia.

You can see our previous topics about the tournament for this year here:

We encourage you to go onto social media and share this post, as well as to follow our Facebook, Instagram, and other pages to stay up to date on the tournament. You can vote once per day for each conference’s blocks (once we’re in the main tournament, each conference will have their own distinct article). So to better your favorite (or your own personal) brewery’s chances of winning – we highly recommend sharing and letting all of your friends and family (and even your enemies) know to vote for you.

You can follow along with us on Facebook and Instagram.

The Rules

There’s gotta be some kind of rules to this madness right? This madness of March (and well, this year the end of February as well… and yes… also a bit of April as the tournament goes into that month as well). So… what are the rules involved?

To pull straight from the initial March Madness / Battle of the Breweries post:

So how’s this going to work? Who all is invited? What all breweries are going to be in it? How many breweries? How’s voting going to work? Who decides whose in and whose out? Whats the seeding? Why is Rick such a jerk to Morty? Why is Jurassic Bark the saddest episode of Futurama ever?  Why is the sky blue?

Ok…. enough with the questions!

March Madness (2021) – The Battle of the Breweries (2021)

Breweries are selected from breweries that have been visited by The Beer Thrillers staff.

Voting Rules

Each day you will be able to come to the site to make your votes in the polls. It will be set-up by IPS, so it limits you to voting just once per day per vote. You can vote as many times as you want per round, but only once per day.

Rounds will be one week (ending on Sunday nights at 11:59:59 PM EST) and the new week of voting starting up the next day (Monday) when I get the articles posted (usually around 8:30 – 9:30 AM EST).

Voting will typically be a week long, but the scheduling might be a bit in-flux, stay tuned to the follow up Preliminary Qualifiers post, which will spell out the scheduling a bit better. I prefer to have the rounds last Monday – Sunday for ease. The preliminary qualifiers will end on Thursday (February 29th), and  the tournament will start on a Friday (March 1st). So most likely the opening round will just have a few extra days of voting.

Schedule of Rounds

  • Preliminary Qualifiers: February 26th – February 29th
  • Round of 32: March 1st – March 10th
  • Round of 16: March 11th – March 17th
  • Round of 8: March 18th – March 24th
  • Round of 4: March 25th – March 31st
  • Conference Finals: April 1st – 7th
  • Finals Fatal Four-Way: April 8th – April 14th

VOTE HERE

Lets do this! Enough with the fine print, and the rules, and the boring stuff. Lets get to voting! Here you go, here’s where you get to vote for the Preliminary Qualifiers. The fatal four-way “Win And You’re In” match-ups. There are four fatal four-ways, one for each conference. You may only pick one brewery from each fatal four-way.

Good luck to your favorite breweries in the tournament! Share and tell your friends to help your favorite breweries get more votes!

Participating Breweries

This is the list of all 140 breweries that will be participating in the Battle of the Breweries (2024). This list is in no particular order, and is not set for their conferences. We will be rolling D4’s (four sided dice) to determine which of the conferences the breweries will be placed in. Once they are placed in their conferences, they are seeded by overall Untappd rating.

A pint of Dogfish Head’s 60 Minute IPA

Beer Review: 60 Minute IPA (Dogfish Head Craft Brewery)

Dogfish Head’s 60 Minute IPA has long been a herald of the American craft beer movement, standing out as a consistent and refined example of an India Pale Ale. Here’s a detailed review of this iconic brew:

Appearance:

The 60 Minute IPA pours a clear, golden amber color with a frothy white head that dissipates gradually, leaving a nice lace on the glass. The beer’s clarity and color are inviting, promising a classic IPA experience.

Aroma:

This brew greets the nose with a bouquet of floral and citrus hops. There are notes of grapefruit, orange peel, and pine, underscored by a subtle malt sweetness. The aroma is balanced; it’s hop-forward without being overpowering, setting the stage for what follows in the taste.

Taste:

On the palate, Dogfish Head’s 60 Minute IPA delivers a beautiful harmony of hop bitterness and malty backbone. The hop profile is complex, featuring flavors of citrus, particularly grapefruit and lemon zest, followed by pine and a bit of herbal quality. The malt presents itself with hints of caramel and biscuit, providing a solid foundation that complements the bitterness rather than clashing with it. The transition from the initial hoppy bite to the underlying sweetness is smooth and well-executed.

Mouthfeel:

Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation, the 60 Minute IPA has a crisp and somewhat resinous mouthfeel that makes for a refreshing drink. It’s neither too heavy nor too light, striking a nice balance that makes it quite sessionable for an IPA.

Finish:

The finish is moderately dry with a lingering hop bitterness that invites another sip without becoming too intense. It’s clean and does not leave an overly resinous aftertaste, which can be common in more aggressively hopped IPAs.

Overall Impression:

Dogfish Head’s 60 Minute IPA is an exemplary craft beer that balances accessibility with complexity. It’s crafted to appeal to both newcomers to the IPA style and seasoned hop aficionados. Its method of continuous hopping over 60 minutes during the boil provides a unique depth and variety to its hop character, which is showcased beautifully throughout the drinking experience.

Food Pairing Suggestions:

This IPA pairs wonderfully with spicy foods, grilled meats, and sharp cheeses. The hop bitterness cuts through the richness of fatty foods and complements spicy dishes beautifully.

Conclusion:

The 60 Minute IPA remains a staple in Dogfish Head’s lineup for good reasons. It is approachable yet sophisticated, making it a go-to IPA for many beer lovers. Whether you’re a craft beer enthusiast or a casual drinker looking to explore the style, the 60 Minute IPA is a compelling choice that won’t disappoint.

Tap Room Etiquette: A Guide to Enjoying Craft Beer with Respect and Appreciation https://thebeerthrillers.com/2024/01/03/tap-room-etiquette-a-guide-to-enjoying-craft-beer-with-respect-and-appreciation/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=tap-room-etiquette-a-guide-to-enjoying-craft-beer-with-respect-and-appreciation Thu, 04 Jan 2024 02:38:39 +0000 https://thebeerthrillers.com/?p=14316

Tap Room Etiquette: A Guide to Enjoying Craft Beer with Respect and Appreciation

Dogfish Head BRewrey Taproom

The booming craft beer scene has introduced a wave of aficionados and casual drinkers alike to the myriad of flavors, styles, and communities centered around local breweries. Tap rooms, the beating heart of these breweries, are where enthusiasts gather to sample the latest offerings, enjoy the ambiance, and connect with fellow beer lovers. However, just as there are unwritten rules for enjoying a pint at your local pub, there are etiquettes to follow in a tap room to ensure everyone’s experience is enjoyable. Here’s a guide to help you navigate these communal spaces with respect and appreciation.

Know What You Want (Or Be Open to Suggestions)

Tap rooms often feature a rotating selection of beers, each with its own unique profile. Before stepping up to the bar, have an idea of what you’re interested in trying. If you’re new to craft beer or the brewery’s selection, don’t hesitate to ask the staff for recommendations. They’re usually eager to share their knowledge and can guide you towards something you’ll enjoy based on your preferences. However, be mindful of busy times – if the bar is packed, consider trying a flight (a selection of small pours) to sample a variety without holding up the line.

Respect the Space and the Staff

Treehouse Brewing Taproom

Tap rooms are not just bars; they are extensions of the brewery and often a source of pride for the brewers who spend countless hours crafting their beers. Show respect for the space by following any posted rules, being mindful of your volume, and keeping your area tidy. Equally important is respecting the staff. Remember, a friendly attitude goes a long way, and patience is key during busy hours. Tips are also appreciated as a gesture of thanks for their service and expertise.

Be Open to Conversation (But Respect Boundaries)

Tired Hands Fermentoria Taproom

One of the joys of visiting a tap room is the opportunity to meet like-minded individuals who share a passion for craft beer. Engaging in conversation with fellow patrons can enrich your experience, offering insights into the local beer scene, personal recommendations, and even new friendships. However, it’s important to be mindful of social cues and respect personal space. Not everyone may be in the mood for conversation, and that’s okay.

Savor, Don’t Guzzle

Craft Beer Bar

Tap rooms are about appreciating the art and science of brewing. Take your time to savor the flavors, aromas, and textures of each beer. This isn’t a race to the bottom of your glass; it’s an opportunity to explore and enjoy the nuances of craft brewing. If you’re sampling a high-ABV beer, consider pacing yourself or splitting a pour with a friend. Remember, the goal is to enjoy the experience responsibly.

Share Your Experience

Stone (Richmond Virginia) Brewery’s Taproom

Many craft breweries rely on word of mouth and social media to grow their audience. If you enjoyed your visit, consider sharing your experience online. Check-in on beer rating apps, leave a positive review, or share a photo on your social media channels. Tagging the brewery can help increase their visibility and attract more patrons. Just remember to ask before taking photos of other guests or staff to respect their privacy.

Leave No Trace

Finally, treat the tap room with the same respect you would any other establishment or even a friend’s home. Dispose of your trash properly, return glasses to the designated area if applicable, and straighten up your space before leaving. These small gestures contribute to a positive environment and ensure the tap room remains a welcoming place for everyone.

The craft beer community is renowned for its camaraderie, inclusivity, and shared love for quality brews. By following these tap room etiquette tips, you’ll not only enhance your own experience but also contribute to the positive atmosphere that makes these spaces so special. Cheers to responsible enjoyment and the continued discovery of the wonderful world of craft beer!

Map of New Breweries We Visited in 2023 https://thebeerthrillers.com/2024/01/01/map-of-new-breweries-we-visited-in-2023/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=map-of-new-breweries-we-visited-in-2023 Mon, 01 Jan 2024 21:55:41 +0000 https://thebeerthrillers.com/?p=15362 Map of New Breweries We Visited in 2023

A map of all the breweries we visited in 2023 for the first time.

This is a map of all the “new to us” breweries we visited in 2023. And by this I mean the physical locations. (So some of these will be breweries I’ve been to before, but a new location of theirs, like the Spring House Tavern.)

This list is Ben’s first time visits (mostly visited with Amy, and then later Scarlet).

How to Use The Map

You can zoom in, and click on each of the beer mugs with the paw prints on them to see the breweries. This will call up their address via Google Maps, as well as any other information they have supplied to Google (phone numbers, websites, etc.). You can also save this map to your Google Maps so when you call up Google Maps these locations will be pinned onto your map as an overlay.

Maps of Breweries in the United States of America (USA)

The below is a list of maps of the states, territories, and districts of the United States. As well as a fun map of all the breweries that The Beer Thrillers have been to. I am working on getting these done geographically, starting with Maine. (When the state is underlined and in color, means the map is done and ready to be viewed.)

7th Anniversary Beer Fest – Event Brite Page

Fidens?! Adroit Theory? Xul Brewing? RAR Brewing? Southern Grist? Resident Culture? Burley Oak? Dewey? Crooked Crab? Other Half? Fourscore? Dancing Gnome? Black Flag?

Sign us up!

This is an absolute star studded lineup, and we can’t wait. Amy and I will be going. Looking to meet up with a lot of the Central PA Whalerz and hopefully doing a beer share afterwards as well. (Because… why not do a beer share after a mammoth four hour brewfest?)

Unlike the 5th Anniversary Event where Amy and I took the Friday off, and made a huge brewery trip out of it, this year, we’re just going to be going down Saturday morning, hitting up the brewfest, spending the night, and then hitting a few breweries on the way home Sunday. Still a lot of fun, but possibly a little bit more laid back. (Possibly.)

Sipping on Tradition: A Guide to Craft Beer Flagship Beers https://thebeerthrillers.com/2023/04/24/sipping-on-tradition-a-guide-to-craft-beer-flagship-beers/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=sipping-on-tradition-a-guide-to-craft-beer-flagship-beers Tue, 25 Apr 2023 02:34:00 +0000 https://thebeerthrillers.com/?p=11148 Staples of the Craft Beer World: A Look at Flagship Beers and What Makes Them Great

Craft beer has taken the world by storm in recent years, and with so many different styles and flavors to choose from, it can be hard to know where to start. One great place to begin your craft beer journey is with flagship beers.

Flagship beers are the beers that a craft brewery is known for. They are the brews that are always on tap, the ones that the brewery is most proud of, and the ones that are most widely distributed. Flagship beers can come in a variety of styles, from IPAs to stouts to lagers, but what they all have in common is that they represent the essence of the brewery.

If you’re new to craft beer, trying a brewery’s flagship beer is a great way to get a sense of what they’re all about. For example, Sierra Nevada’s Pale Ale is a classic flagship beer that has been around since the 1980s. It’s a hoppy, yet balanced, pale ale that showcases the brewery’s commitment to using only the highest quality ingredients.

Another great flagship beer to try is New Belgium’s Fat Tire Amber Ale. This beer has been a staple of the craft beer scene since the 1990s and is known for its smooth, caramel-like flavors and its easy-drinking nature. It’s a great beer to pair with just about any type of food, from burgers to pizza to spicy Mexican dishes.

One of the things that makes flagship beers so special is that they often have a rich history and a loyal following. These beers are often the result of years of experimentation and refinement, and they represent the heart and soul of the brewery. Many craft beer enthusiasts have a favorite flagship beer that they always turn to, whether they’re out at a bar or enjoying a cold one at home.

If you’re interested in trying some flagship beers, the best place to start is by visiting your local brewery. Most craft breweries offer flights or tasters, which allow you to sample a variety of their beers. Be sure to ask about their flagship beer and give it a try. You never know, it might just become your new favorite brew.

Flagship beers are an important part of the craft beer landscape. They represent the best that a brewery has to offer and are often the result of years of hard work and experimentation. If you’re new to craft beer or just looking to try something new, give a brewery’s flagship beer a try. You might just discover your new favorite brew.

A map of the breweries we visited for the first time in 2022

Map of New Breweries We Visited in 2022

This is a map of all the “new to us” breweries we visited in 2022. And by this I mean the physical locations. I’ve obviously been to Boneshire Brew Works (since their very first day of opening), but this was the first time going to their “Taps @ Soma” location. The ZeroDay location is similarly the same, its technically a “new” location for them, thus why it makes the list.

The below is a list of maps of the states, territories, and districts of the United States. As well as a fun map of all the breweries that The Beer Thrillers have been to. We are working on a massive project here at The Beer Thrillers. We are creating a map of all of the breweries across the United States. State by state we are adding maps of all of the different states with every brewery in each state. (We will eventually get to the US Territories, as well as the Canadian Provinces, and possibly more countries; as well as doing some fun maps like a map of all the breweries we’ve been to, and other fun maps.) You can find the brewery maps here:

We are also working on a project of creating printable and downloadable PDFs and resources to be able to check and keep track of all of the breweries you’ve been to. So stay tuned for that project once we are finished with the Brewery Maps of the US States.

Macklin Brewing Company In Development https://thebeerthrillers.com/2022/06/25/macklin-brewing-company-in-development/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=macklin-brewing-company-in-development Sat, 25 Jun 2022 14:28:07 +0000 https://thebeerthrillers.com/?p=9414

Macklin Brewing Company

There’s a new brewery in development and its coming to Seaford Delaware, and if you couldn’t guess by the title of this article…. its Macklin Brewing Company. Spearheaded by Michael Salter, former co – owner and brewer from The Isle of Que Brewing in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. (You might remember them as our first winner back in 2021 of our annual ‘The Battle of the Breweries’.)

You can find some articles we’ve included about The Isle of Que Brewing here:

Michael Salter recently reached out to me to let me know that he is in the process of starting their new brewery up and looking to get some followship on the social medias. He’s been a great guy and a terrific follower of the blog so I jumped to help him out. Funnily enough also, he recently came into the casino and I ended up dealing to him while running relief for blackjack. (I unfortunately beat the poor man up on the game while dealing. But hey, at least he did look good sporting his Pineknotter Brewery cap.)

Selinsgrove to Seaford

Selinsgrove PA to Seaford DE

Interested in the travel from Selinsgrove (Pennsylvania) to Seaford (Delaware) and wondering how long it would take? Well, right at this moment, Google Maps says it would take just about four hours. So it would be a little hike, but luckily there is also a lot of great breweries in Delaware, so going to Delaware will be well worth your trip. Plus there is a great tax break when shopping there, and oh yea, there’s these things called beaches in Delaware, so thats not bad either.

From the Harrisburg / Hummelstown / Hershey area (where we here at The Beer Thrillers) are located – it would be around a 3 hour and 5 minute drive. So Mr. Salter will certainly get a visit from us in the future when they open up.

Follow Macklin Brewing Company

So please be sure to follow Macklin Brewing Company on the social media platforms available. You can find them on Facebook, here: Macklin Brewing Company (Official Facebook page). They currently do not have an Instagram, Twitter, or Untappd page, but will in the near future I’m sure. Same with official website yet, thats also in the works. You can contact them through e – mail here: macklinbrewing@gmail.com

For more information, their Facebook page lists this as their description:

The Macklin Brewing Company is a brewery in development. Soon to be located in Seaford, Delaware. A place for great hand crafted beer, food, live music and a place for the community to get together with friends and to welcome visitors to this great city.

So Be Sure To Give Them a Like and a Follow

Be sure to give them a like and follow on Facebook. They deserve it, and it’ll keep you updated and in the know for when they get more going. They are currently at 744 followers. Lets see if they can crack 800 by the end of June and 1000 by the end of July. One more time, their Facebook page is: Macklin Brewing Company (Official Facebook page). So go on, click the link, go over there, click follow, and then come back here and check out the blog. They’ll appreciate it and so will we! Win win!

Thanks For Reading

Thank you for reading everyone. June is wrapping up and we’ll soon be in July. We are looking to be doing a new ‘battle’ in July. Similar to our Battle of the Breweries we do in March (and spills over into April), we will be doing a “Battle of the Beers”, where its breweries specific flagship beers, and it’ll be a tournament similar to the March Madness style one we already do (The Battle of the Breweries). More information on this will be coming to the blog and our social medias shortly.

We are also working on a lot of stuff behind the scenes here. Hopefully a new page layout soon, as well as full in – depth Author pages for each of our writers and with bios and stuff and more. We also have a long list of articles in draft stage that will be posting shortly. So there is always plenty to be see and read here on The Beer Thrillers!

And on that note, my friends Ming and Don are just about here, and we’re going to be heading out to Jim Thorpe where I’m sure we’ll be hitting a few breweries (I can always con and guilt them into a few). I’ll be sure to report back on them! Last night Amy and I were at Three Beards Brewing / Spyglass Ridge Winery for the George Thorogood and Destroyers (and Foghat) concert. So we are always on the move here, so be sure to check in with us and stay up to date on our social medias!

Cheers all!
