The brewery – located at 205 N Main St, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210 – has announced its closure yesterday (January 18th, 2025) via social media accounts. Their post states that the final day of the brewery’s operations will be on Sunday, January 26th, 2025.

Bucket Brigade Brewery Closing

Bucket Brigade Brewery’s announcement via social media.

Their post on Facebook reads:

After careful consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to close the doors of Bucket Brigade Brewery for good on January 26th. For the past 7 years, your support, passion, and friendship have meant the world to us—we can’t thank you enough for the memories we’ve shared and the community we’ve built together.
Over the last two years, it’s been clear that Bucket Brigade has evolved under Karl’s son Karlson’s leadership as head brewer. In just a year and a half, he’s earned 15 awards and taken the brewery to bold, exciting places. But with those changes came growing pains, and ultimately, Bucket Brigade Brewery wasn’t able to adapt as a brand to keep pace with Karlson’s innovative direction.
While this marks the end of Bucket Brigade, we’re excited for what’s next: Karlson will be taking over our building and launching his own venture, **Obscura Brewing Co.** Inspired by his love of pushing boundaries and exploring the unknown, Obscura Brewing Co. captures Karlson’s spirit of innovation—and with his stellar track record, we have no doubt it’s going to be something truly special.
Mark your calendars for March 6th, when Obscura Brewing Co. opens its doors for a soft opening party and AC Beer Fest ticket event. We’re thrilled to see Karlson carry on the tradition of great beer and a welcoming atmosphere—just with a fresh, new twist.
In the meantime, we’re holding a blowout sale at Bucket Brigade through January 26th. Enjoy Karlson’s outstanding beers at a fraction of the cost—mix-and-match a case of any packs for just $25. Stock up, reminisce, and toast these final days of the Bucket as we close this chapter.
We invite you to stop by, share your favorite stories, and say goodbye to Bucket Brigade in person. If you’d like to claim any donated memorabilia, please coordinate with Karl Sr directly.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us make the last 7 years so unforgettable. We’re sad to say farewell to Bucket Brigade, but we’re equally excited to see Karlson forge a new path with Obscura Brewing Co. Cheers, and we hope to raise a glass with you soon!
So looks like all is not over; as Karlson will be still brewing with a new brewery called “Obscura Brewing Company”. More news will be upcoming on their opening and what all will be happening with them.
Also be sure to stay informed via Bucket Brigade’s social media pages as they announce closing hours and sales.
Amy and I got to visit Bucket Brigade Brewery back in 2021 (in either October or November). Here’s to the future of Obscura Brewing Company and hoping all is well for all those and their future endeavors wherever they may end up.
Just yesterday we announced also that the Beer Busters Podcast will be hanging it up, and today we unfortunately have this news, and it sounds like we’ll be making a post about another brewery’s closing tomorrow if the rumors be true (unfortunately). So be tuned in for that.

Gateway Craft Brewing Has Closed https://thebeerthrillers.com/2025/01/15/gateway-craft-brewing-has-closed/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=gateway-craft-brewing-has-closed Wed, 15 Jan 2025 18:13:15 +0000 https://thebeerthrillers.com/?p=15877 Gateway Craft Brewing Has Closed

Located at 2207 Northwood Dr Unit 3A, Salisbury, MD 21801, Gateway Craft Brewing opened in 2020, and unfortunately is having to close down. 2025 is starting off rough this year, Four Seasons Brewing has announced that they are “currently” closed, and now Gateway Craft Brewing has permanently closed. Gateway Craft Brewing was one of a few breweries located in Salisbury MD, and opened during a rough time, with the pandemic, and all of the other events and happenings of 2020.

Gateway Craft Brewing’s announcement on social media.

Gateway Craft Brewing Announces Permanent Closing

At 9:41 AM this morning, Gateway Craft Brewing made the following announcement via Facebook:

2025….

….is starting off on a bad note. Unfortunately, we must close Gateway Craft Brewing permanently. For the past 4 years we had enjoyed sharing our beer and the company of our customers and friends. Tim’s recovery from the surgery is coming along fine, but he continues to have difficulty walking, making it painful to complete all the tasks needed to maintain the brewery. If we can’t make beer, we are unable to bear the costs of keeping it open.

It has been very painful coming to this decision.

Thank you for your help and support in giving us the opportunity to further the craft beer vibe here on the Eastern Shore. Please join us Saturday January 25 for potluck, our remaining beer, discounted merch, and sharing time with friends.

Gateway Craft Brewing Facebook Post

2024 was a tough year for a lot of breweries, and 2025 doesn’t look to be much better. Tim’s medical and health issues also complicated and made things a lot harder as well for Gateway Craft Brewing.

Little Mutants Brewery Closing

For more information on their closing, you can see our article here: Little Mutants Brewing Has Closed.

The long and short of it though, is that Little Mutants Brewery was being quite shady near the end, underpaying (or not even paying bartenders at all), failing to provide the things they guaranteed for performers at their venue, ghosting performers on upcoming events, and much more. The above article goes into detail a bit more.

Little Mutants Has Closed https://thebeerthrillers.com/2024/12/27/little-mutants-has-closed/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=little-mutants-has-closed Fri, 27 Dec 2024 15:26:26 +0000 https://thebeerthrillers.com/?p=15824 Little Mutants Has Closed

It appears that Little Mutants, from Lancaster PA, has gone the (newly popular route) of ‘silent closing’. Or ‘ghost closing’. Which basically just means they’ve closed, but without a big to-do about it, or a big announcement, or even any announcement at all. If you look at their Facebook and Instagram accounts, and even their website, they all just show recent events being that of their ‘upcoming’ Oktoberfest, and all posts end around September 21st-28th. Located at 841 N Prince Street, Lancaster PA, 17603 Little Mutants considered itself a brewery, but listed as a ‘cidery’ on Untappd, and viewed as a venue and entertainment location by most in Lancaster.

Little Mutants

Little Mutants is Closed

Add Little Mutants to the list of breweries that have closed in 2024. (An ever increasingly growing number.) By all appearances they had closed before the end of October; though they did so silently, and without alerting anyone. Their Facebook, Instagram, and Website, still had events listed past October, but no posts past September 28th.

Digging into things, all I’ve really been able to locate about reasons for closing is this thread on Lancaster’s sub-reddit:

In it they discuss multiple reasons for the the venue and brewery closing. Some things, like bartenders not being paid, people who were running shows at the venue not getting the guarantees that they had asked for, and even more salacious rumors of the ownership and employees. (Note some of these are rumors, but some have also been verified as true.)

One quote from the post reads:

This is a pattern for them. And a big reason why everything is imploding so quickly. It has gotten really messy but here’s what I know –

Apparently one of the day-1 bartenders/creative partners who really put a lot of effort into elevating the experiences there and invested personal money (nearly 10k) into it with the promise of reimbursement (not ideal, but apparently finances are a disaster over there), eventually left after trying to get paid not just for the business expenses, but his actual wages too. The bartender had to screenshot the very avoidant and blamey text conversation they had with the owner and post it on their IG story before he was paid back, but not before being blamed for causing emotional distress and a bunch of other weaponized therapy-speak.

There have been long-standing concerns about harm reduction, given the culture there (and Stygian, the Shadowlands DJ/organizer, posted a very well-articulated response to everything going on on their IG story on Friday or Saturday). The “creative director” there has been having a long-standing affair with the owner and that whole situation has resulted in some rather poor choices being made both internally and some downright absurdly disrespectful treatment of artists who worked with them, and its just all blowing up in pretty spectacular fashion.

Little Mutants (Lancaster /r/) mstoltzfus97

Another quote from the post reads:

Hi, I was a main bartender there. It’s all a huge mess and I am owed thousands of dollars from my credit card tips being stolen without my knowledge. The only other bartender noticed and did the math, and I eventually did too to figure out how large the difference was. It’s like it all crumbled within a matter of weeks, and the stress of it all has been making me sick. I received a text from the one owner (who is in the spotlight) on 10/4 saying I was no longer able to work there due to lack of funds. It was really devastating for me financially to be cut off like that.

I always tried to be neutral, positive, and do well at my job but in the end I was too trusting and was burned badly. I loved that venue for hosting alternative electronic music, metal shows, and of course Shadowland but I am left really hurt by it all. I even feel embarrassed for believing in the cause and being associated with it. I am thankful for the people I met there and fun I had… but that place truly was set on fire, pissed on, and suplexed in a matter of weeks and unfortunately me, the other bartender, DJs, and (incredible) queens have suffered greatly over the terrible ownership decisions that were made by one particular owner.

I still haven’t been paid what I’m owed. The other bartender thankfully has, though. I will say the other owners and investors are fighting for me and have been absolutely amazing supporting me through this.

Edit to add: I’ve been quiet about this on my socials because I want to actually get paid what I’m owed, and it’s truly such a dumpster fire that I feel like I just want to move on with my life… I have so much other shit going on.

Little Mutants (Lancaster /r/) – User Post was listed as [deleted]

There is also an Instagram post on the situation (from the Reddit thread): InstagramDJ Stygian.

One person on the thread even commenting that they had an upcoming show and just suddenly stopped receiving e-mails and replies from Little Mutants ownership. So it seems like it was a full ghosting on all people and to everyone involved. This speaks much more to the ownership, those running the business, than it does about the business in general; and sadly gives the craft beer industry and the brewing industry as a whole a bad name. While there has been several poor owners and bad managers and companies in the craft brewing industry (looks at Imprint) – generally speaking, the craft brewing industry is filled with hard working, dedicated, community forward individuals.

As we find out more on the story and about Little Mutants and their closing and whats in store for the business, we will be sure to post here, so stay tuned and keep checking back with us.

RateBeer to Close Its Doors: A Fond Farewell to a Craft Beer Icon https://thebeerthrillers.com/2024/12/18/ratebeer-to-close-its-doors-a-fond-farewell-to-a-craft-beer-icon/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=ratebeer-to-close-its-doors-a-fond-farewell-to-a-craft-beer-icon Wed, 18 Dec 2024 16:33:44 +0000 https://thebeerthrillers.com/?p=15820 RateBeer to Close Its Doors: A Fond Farewell to a Craft Beer Icon

In a heartfelt announcement, RateBeer—the beloved craft beer rating platform—has revealed that it will cease operations as of February 1, 2025. For many in the craft beer community, this marks the end of an era.

Joe Tucker’s ‘Thank You’ goodbye note on RateBeer

A Legacy Built on Passion

RateBeer launched over two decades ago, long before craft beer was the cultural powerhouse it is today. At its core, the platform served a simple but ambitious purpose: to connect beer lovers around the globe through shared experiences and reviews. For many, it wasn’t just a website but a digital meeting place—a forum where tasting notes mingled with camaraderie, and where beer geeks became lifelong friends.

Its founder, Joe Tucker, shared his bittersweet reflections in the farewell message posted to the site. “When I started building RateBeer over two decades ago, I couldn’t have dreamed of what it would grow into and become,” he wrote. “Together, we’ve built a close community that helped shape the history of craft beer.”

In 2019 Anheuser-Busch (AB InBev) via their ZX Ventures fully acquired RateBeer. (See more here: ZX Ventures Fully Acquires RateBeer)

Why Does This Matter?

For craft beer enthusiasts, RateBeer was more than just a review site. It was a cornerstone of the craft beer movement. Before social media and apps like Untappd, RateBeer was the go-to source for beer ratings, brewery information, and forums where enthusiasts could trade tips and rare bottles.

The platform’s extensive database, crowd-sourced by thousands of users, served as an invaluable resource for exploring new brews and breweries. Its annual “Best Beers in the World” rankings became a trusted guide for both seasoned beer aficionados and curious newcomers.

The End of an Era

RateBeer logo

As craft beer culture grew and evolved, RateBeer faced increased competition. The rise of mobile-first platforms like Untappd offered faster, more user-friendly interfaces that catered to a new generation of beer drinkers. Despite adapting with updates and features, RateBeer’s influence began to wane.

But its impact cannot be understated. RateBeer played a pivotal role in documenting the craft beer boom of the late 1990s and 2000s. It gave brewers feedback from their most devoted fans, helped foster the idea of beer as an art form, and built a community united by a shared love for hops, malt, and innovation.

Joe Tucker’s Goodbye Note

Hello all,

I have some difficult news to share with you – RateBeer will cease operations as of February 1, 2025.

RateBeer was born and evolved around a core purpose: To provide a place for beer enthusiasts around the world to share their passion and experiences. When I started building RateBeer over 2 decades ago, I couldn’t have dreamed of what it would grow into and become. Together, we’ve built a close community that helped shape the history of craft beer.

Thank you all for your participation. It’s been a joy for me and I hope it’s been for you.

Joe Tucker’s Thank You and Goodbye Note on RateBeer Forums

Preserving Your Contributions

For those who spent years contributing reviews and building their profiles, the site encourages users to download their ratings and reviews by January 18, 2025. The process is straightforward:

  1. Log in to your RateBeer account and go to the “My Profile” page.
  2. In the “My Account” section, click “Compile My Ratings.”
  3. Download your data in a convenient CSV format.

If you encounter any issues, the RateBeer team is still offering assistance via their feedback page.

A Personal Reflection

As someone who’s been immersed in the craft beer world for years, this news hits close to home. RateBeer wasn’t just a website; it was a rite of passage for many of us discovering the world of craft beer. It introduced me to styles I didn’t even know existed and breweries that became staples of my beer journey.

The closure of RateBeer feels like saying goodbye to an old friend. But it’s also a chance to reflect on its incredible legacy. Joe Tucker and the entire RateBeer community built something special—a space that celebrated beer in all its complexity and diversity.

What’s Next for the Craft Beer Community?

The closing of RateBeer underscores a larger shift in the craft beer world. As new platforms emerge and the way we connect evolves, one thing remains constant: our love for beer and the stories it tells. While we say goodbye to RateBeer, the community it fostered will undoubtedly find new ways to thrive.

To Joe Tucker and everyone who contributed to RateBeer’s success: thank you for the memories, the knowledge, and the passion. You helped shape craft beer history, and for that, we raise a glass in your honor. Cheers!

Elysian Brewing’s Georgetown Brewery Closure: What It Means for Seattle’s Beer Scene https://thebeerthrillers.com/2024/11/15/elysian-brewings-georgetown-brewery-closure-what-it-means-for-seattles-beer-scene/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=elysian-brewings-georgetown-brewery-closure-what-it-means-for-seattles-beer-scene Sat, 16 Nov 2024 01:00:28 +0000 https://thebeerthrillers.com/?p=15729 Elysian Brewing’s Georgetown Brewery Closure: What It Means for Seattle’s Beer Scene

Seattle’s craft beer landscape is undergoing yet another shake-up as Elysian Brewing, owned by Anheuser-Busch, announced the permanent closure of its Georgetown production brewery and taproom by December 31st, 2024. This marks the end of an era for a facility that had been a significant contributor to the brand’s identity since its acquisition by the beer giant in 2015. While details are still unfolding, the closure has sparked questions, speculation, and concern within the local beer community.

Elysian Brewing Company’s Georgetown Location

Elysian Brewing’s Georgetown Brewery Closure

The End of Georgetown Production

The Georgetown brewery, known for its large-scale production of popular beers like Space Dust IPA, is shutting its doors, with reports indicating that brewing will now shift to other Anheuser-Busch facilities. The smaller, original Capitol Hill brewery—Elysian’s birthplace—will remain operational and has been touted as the future focal point for the brand. According to Elysian representatives, a $1.7 million investment will be made to expand and enhance the Capitol Hill location.

The Georgetown brewery (located at 5410 Airport Wy S, Seattle, WA 98108), is one of the largest full scale production breweries in Seattle. (It is also one of the largest across the country comparative to many of the other Top Producing Breweries.)

However, the announcement leaves many unanswered questions. What happens to Elysian’s third location, Elysian Fields, near T-Mobile Park? For now, its fate remains unclear, adding to the uncertainty surrounding the brand’s Seattle footprint.

Impact on Employees

Employee layoffs are perhaps the most sobering aspect of this closure. Conflicting reports suggest anywhere from a handful to as many as 90 workers could be affected. According to insiders, most Georgetown staff, including the Brewmaster and Lead Brewer, have already been let go, with only two employees reassigned to the Capitol Hill location.

This isn’t the first instance of such consolidation. Employees have likened the move to what happened at Golden Road Brewing, another Anheuser-Busch-owned craft brewery, where production was similarly centralized.

Did Unionization Play a Role?

Adding a layer of complexity is Elysian’s unionization efforts. In 2022, employees at the Georgetown facility voted to join the Teamsters Union, but negotiations for a labor contract reportedly stalled. Some speculate that the closure could be retaliation for unionization, although this remains unconfirmed. With Anheuser-Busch’s broader workforce already unionized, the relationship between Elysian’s closure and its union efforts remains murky.

A Changing Strategy for Craft Beer

This closure is part of a broader strategy shift for Anheuser-Busch, which recently sold off eight of its craft beer brands, including Seattle’s own Redhook, to cannabis-focused company Tilray Brands. While Elysian wasn’t included in that deal, the move signaled a departure from A-B’s previous approach to craft beer. The focus now appears to be on consolidating production and streamlining operations—a strategy that has clearly impacted Georgetown.

Capitol Hill’s Beer Evolution

Elysian’s Capitol Hill brewery will now bear the weight of the brand’s legacy. Opened in 1996, this location has been the heart of Elysian Brewing, and the company plans to invest in its infrastructure to support both brewing and customer experiences. However, for fans of Elysian’s larger-scale offerings, future batches will be brewed outside Seattle, potentially altering the perception of the once-local favorite.

The move also highlights Capitol Hill’s shifting beer scene. Recent years have seen major changes, such as Stoup Brewing’s acquisition of Optimism Brewing and the sale of Redhook’s E Pike Brewlab to Tilray. Smaller breweries like Outer Planet Brewing remain resilient examples of independent craft beer, but Elysian’s closure underscores the challenges and transformations within the local industry.

What’s Next for Elysian and Seattle Beer Fans?

While Anheuser-Busch paints the closure as an opportunity to refocus on Capitol Hill, many in the community are left questioning what this means for Seattle’s craft beer identity. For now, Elysian enthusiasts can still visit the Capitol Hill pub to enjoy their favorite beers, but the shift in production raises questions about how connected the brand will remain to its Seattle roots.

For beer lovers in the Pacific Northwest, this news serves as a reminder of the ever-changing dynamics of the craft beer industry. Whether you’re a die-hard fan of Elysian’s Space Dust or a casual beer enthusiast, the closure of the Georgetown facility is a bittersweet chapter in the brand’s story. As the dust settles, one thing remains clear: the Seattle beer scene is evolving, and local beer lovers will be watching closely to see what comes next.

Logyard Brewery Has Closed https://thebeerthrillers.com/2024/11/15/logyard-brewery-has-closed/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=logyard-brewery-has-closed Fri, 15 Nov 2024 17:00:04 +0000 https://thebeerthrillers.com/?p=15779 Logyard Brewery Has Seemingly Closed

It would seem that Logyard Brewery has ‘quiet’ closed. Without fully telling anyone, or making any grand announcements on Facebook or other social media platforms; it would seem that Logyard Brewing out of Kane, PA has closed. The small but popular brewery from Kane, PA had a strong following online and in person for most of their run. They also canned and distributed slightly throughout the state, as well as appeared at several brewfests and events throughout the state (such as the Lancaster Craft Beerfest, and others).

Exterior of the Logyard Brewery (photo courtesy of Logyard Brewery’s website)

Logyard Brewery Has Closed

Its safe to say they have closed at this point. They have not been open in a bit, and workers have told residents of Kane that they have closed. I reached out to them via e-mail and have received no reply (with a wait time of six days). Its sad to hear as Logyard Brewing made some fantastic beers and was such a great spot for the locales. I remember visiting it with my daughters back in August of 2019, and we absolutely loved it. My (now 15 years old) daughter Lily still raves about the beer cheese from them.

Located at 20 Wetmore Ave, Kane, PA 16735, Logyard Brewery is just a few doors down from Twisted Vine Beverages (another brewery in Kane, PA).

As I alluded to earlier in the article, Logyard Brewing Company hasn’t made an official announcement of their closing – but workers have told residents in Kane that they have closed. There is also talk in Facebook groups (particularly local Kane groups) that they are officially closed. With one particular post in the “Things Happening in Kane PA” group, by a Katie Johnson on November 13th:

On behalf of Royce Novosel-Johnson and Tim Robinson:

Well, folks, our time has come. Logyard is now closed. Thank you for your support in the past, thank you to our families and wonderful employees that have worked with us over the years, and thanks for the memories. –at Logyard Brewing.

So for all appearances they have closed. Such a shame to see such a wonderful, beautiful, small town, community oriented brewery close down. They had some tremendous beers, a great atmosphere, wonderful staff, and fantastic food. They will be greatly missed.

2024 has certainly been a rough year, with a lot of breweries closing. Pennsylvania alone has seen several breweries close, and we still have over a month to go in the year. I’m also not expecting 2025 to be much better for breweries and the craft brewing industry. But you never know, fingers crossed, hopefully I’ll be wrong!

Be Here Brewing Company announced today on Facebook that they will be closing at the end of November, marking the end of their five years in business. They are located in Avondale, PA.

Be Here Brewing Announces Upcoming Closure

Be Here Brewing To Close End of November

Just earlier today, Be Here Brewing has announced that they will be closing at the end of November (2024). In a heartfelt post on Facebook they made their announcement about the difficult decision. In a growing list of breweries that have closed this year, the Avondale brewery unfortunately is another casualty. On the heels of Auruchs Brewing announcing their closure, Iron Hill Brewing in Phoenixville closing, and with the possibility of Logyard Brewing being closed – Be Here Brewing will be closing at the end of November 2024.

Located at 122 Pennsylvania Ave, Avondale, PA 19311, the Be Here Brewery has been in business nearly five years.

Announcement

The following is the announcement from Be Here Brewing Company about the upcoming closure:

Dear Friends,
Since the day we opened Be Here Brewing Company nearly five years ago, we’ve come to know you not just as customers, but as friends. Your warmth and camaraderie, your support through both good times and bad, and your many compliments on the beer and food we have served you have all been greatly appreciated. And so it is with heavy hearts that we must share with you the news that Be Here Brewing will be closing at the end of November.

It has truly been a great pleasure for all of us to have been able to provide you with a place to gather, a place to eat and drink, and a place to socialize and be entertained, or simply said, a place to “be here”. We’ve tried to be more than just a place to eat and drink. We’ve shared your birthdays, anniversaries, and celebrations of all kinds. We’ve hosted numerous fundraising events and provided beer and other donations to support the community that we have been privileged to be a part of. When we opened it was with the sentiment that all communities deserve to have their own local place like this, and we remain hopeful that another brewery or brewpub will replace us in our beautiful, historic building.

We hope that between now and the end of the month you’ll join us in enjoying this place again, and to gather again with friends, family, and neighbors. Although there’s no way we can see all of our friends to say goodbye, we hope that whatever the future brings you’ll have a place to live in the moment and enjoy “being here” wherever you are.

Aurochs Brewing Company Announce Their Upcoming Closure

Aurochs Brewing Company Will Cease Operations by End of 2024

Aurochs Brewing Company located at 8321 Ohio River Blvd, Emsworth, PA 15202 will be ceasing operations by the end of 2024. Its the start of the new month, but sadly also the beginning of the end for Aurochs Brewing Company. Over 10 years in business (established in 2012) and unfortunately they have had to make the tough and difficult decision to close by the end of the year. Known as one of the only gluten-free producing breweries not just in Pennsylvania, but in the greater east coast region; Aurochs Brewing made a name for themsleves over the 12 years of their operations.

Aurochs Brewing Company

Aurochs Brewing Company, located just outside Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, specializes in crafting naturally gluten-free beers. Founded by Ryan and Doug, both of whom have personal experiences with gluten intolerance—Ryan diagnosed in his twenties and Doug with Celiac disease since childhood—the brewery was born from a desire to create flavorful craft beers that are safe for those with gluten sensitivities. Since its inception, Aurochs has produced over 40 different styles of gluten-free beer, focusing on high-quality ingredients such as millet, quinoa, and buckwheat sourced from dedicated gluten-free suppliers.
The brewery has gained recognition for its commitment to quality and taste, winning a Gold Medal at the 2020 Great American Beer Festival for its Aurochs Hazy IPA. Their core lineup includes six year-round offerings: Aurochs Blonde Ale, Session IPA, Amber Ale, Porter, Light Lager, and Hazy IPA. Each beer is brewed in a dedicated gluten-free facility, ensuring that all products are free from wheat, barley, and rye. This meticulous process not only guarantees safety for consumers but also emphasizes the brewery’s mission to provide great-tasting beer without compromise.
In addition to their brewing operations, Aurochs has embraced modern distribution methods by offering direct shipping within Pennsylvania and expanding to neighboring states. The brewery’s taproom invites visitors to enjoy a variety of beers on draft alongside gluten-free snacks. With a focus on community and sustainability, Aurochs Brewing Company continues to grow its customer base while maintaining its commitment to producing exceptional gluten-free craft beer for all occasions.

Aurochs Brewing Closing by End of 2024

The Announcement

Aurochs Brewing Company posted the following on social media just two hours ago:

The End of our Story
Thank you for your support of Aurochs Brewing Company through its existence. Over 10 years ago, we set out with the goal of “changing the way the world experiences gluten-free beer”. In that time we have seen that happen many times over and are extremely grateful to have been one part of that larger evolution.
Today, it is with a heavy heart that we announce that Aurochs Brewing Company will be ceasing operations by the end of the year 2024.
We are proud to have brewed great-tasting, award-winning, naturally gluten-free beers that have resonated with many of you. Through your patronage we have been able to grow our footprint and meet the needs of gluten-free beer drinkers across our region.
With the help of our amazing staff and supporters we have given this endeavor everything we have. After years of hard work, countless late or sleepless nights, navigating the challenges of a global pandemic, and the rigors of building and scaling a dedicated gluten-free brewery our founder team has run out of gas. Although the brewery continues to grow in our home market, we do not have the personal resources to go to the next level or to continue operations beyond this year.
We are eternally grateful to our customers, partners, investors, and employees (past and present) who have made this journey so special. From the moment we opened our doors 10 years ago, you have shown up consistently, supporting Aurochs and pushing our dream forward.
We plan to open our tasting room while there is still beer available. We will communicate about hours of operations and opportunities to purchase the last batches of Aurochs.
Additionally, beer will be available for shipping throughout Pennsylvania only while supplies last. Any orders placed this weekend will be shipped out on Tuesday (11/5) with tracking information.
Thank you for taking this journey with us, thank you for your passion and support.
Doug & Ryan
