Aurochs Brewing Company Announce Their Upcoming Closure

Aurochs Brewing Company Will Cease Operations by End of 2024

Aurochs Brewing Company located at 8321 Ohio River Blvd, Emsworth, PA 15202 will be ceasing operations by the end of 2024. Its the start of the new month, but sadly also the beginning of the end for Aurochs Brewing Company. Over 10 years in business (established in 2012) and unfortunately they have had to make the tough and difficult decision to close by the end of the year. Known as one of the only gluten-free producing breweries not just in Pennsylvania, but in the greater east coast region; Aurochs Brewing made a name for themsleves over the 12 years of their operations.

Aurochs Brewing Company

Aurochs Brewing Company, located just outside Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, specializes in crafting naturally gluten-free beers. Founded by Ryan and Doug, both of whom have personal experiences with gluten intolerance—Ryan diagnosed in his twenties and Doug with Celiac disease since childhood—the brewery was born from a desire to create flavorful craft beers that are safe for those with gluten sensitivities. Since its inception, Aurochs has produced over 40 different styles of gluten-free beer, focusing on high-quality ingredients such as millet, quinoa, and buckwheat sourced from dedicated gluten-free suppliers.
The brewery has gained recognition for its commitment to quality and taste, winning a Gold Medal at the 2020 Great American Beer Festival for its Aurochs Hazy IPA. Their core lineup includes six year-round offerings: Aurochs Blonde Ale, Session IPA, Amber Ale, Porter, Light Lager, and Hazy IPA. Each beer is brewed in a dedicated gluten-free facility, ensuring that all products are free from wheat, barley, and rye. This meticulous process not only guarantees safety for consumers but also emphasizes the brewery’s mission to provide great-tasting beer without compromise.
In addition to their brewing operations, Aurochs has embraced modern distribution methods by offering direct shipping within Pennsylvania and expanding to neighboring states. The brewery’s taproom invites visitors to enjoy a variety of beers on draft alongside gluten-free snacks. With a focus on community and sustainability, Aurochs Brewing Company continues to grow its customer base while maintaining its commitment to producing exceptional gluten-free craft beer for all occasions.

Aurochs Brewing Closing by End of 2024

The Announcement

Aurochs Brewing Company posted the following on social media just two hours ago:

The End of our Story
Thank you for your support of Aurochs Brewing Company through its existence. Over 10 years ago, we set out with the goal of “changing the way the world experiences gluten-free beer”. In that time we have seen that happen many times over and are extremely grateful to have been one part of that larger evolution.
Today, it is with a heavy heart that we announce that Aurochs Brewing Company will be ceasing operations by the end of the year 2024.
We are proud to have brewed great-tasting, award-winning, naturally gluten-free beers that have resonated with many of you. Through your patronage we have been able to grow our footprint and meet the needs of gluten-free beer drinkers across our region.
With the help of our amazing staff and supporters we have given this endeavor everything we have. After years of hard work, countless late or sleepless nights, navigating the challenges of a global pandemic, and the rigors of building and scaling a dedicated gluten-free brewery our founder team has run out of gas. Although the brewery continues to grow in our home market, we do not have the personal resources to go to the next level or to continue operations beyond this year.
We are eternally grateful to our customers, partners, investors, and employees (past and present) who have made this journey so special. From the moment we opened our doors 10 years ago, you have shown up consistently, supporting Aurochs and pushing our dream forward.
We plan to open our tasting room while there is still beer available. We will communicate about hours of operations and opportunities to purchase the last batches of Aurochs.
Additionally, beer will be available for shipping throughout Pennsylvania only while supplies last. Any orders placed this weekend will be shipped out on Tuesday (11/5) with tracking information.
Thank you for taking this journey with us, thank you for your passion and support.
Doug & Ryan

Anheuser-Busch InBev Closes Two Craft Brewpubs https://thebeerthrillers.com/2024/01/29/anheuser-busch-inbev-closes-two-craft-brewpubs/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=anheuser-busch-inbev-closes-two-craft-brewpubs Mon, 29 Jan 2024 19:33:19 +0000 https://thebeerthrillers.com/?p=14326

Golden Road Brewpub

Anheuser-Busch InBev Closes Two Craft Brewpubs

The closures are unrelated and just happened to occur at similar time,

-An A.B Spokeswoman said.

Anheuser-Busch InBev is in the process of closing two craft beer brewpubs. Both brewpubs have been affiliated with craft beer and were purchased by Anheuser-Busch InBev in the past decade.

Anheuser-Busch InBev is closing Golden Road Brewery out of Sacramento, California, and Wynwood Brewing Company in Miami, Florida. Golden Road Brewing closed its Sacramento, California, brewpub last week, and Wynwood Brewing Co. in Miami will close after a final day of operations on Feb. 4.

The difficult decision to close the Golden Road Sacramento Brewpub reflects the current operating realities facing the entire restaurant and hospitality industry, and we are committed to supporting our people through this transition, we are tremendously grateful to this community and their support over the years, and though the Sacramento Brewpub is closed, we look forward to continuing to bring them the beers they know and love at their favorite bars, restaurants, and bottle shops.

-Craig Weiner, Golden Road Brewery’s general manager

Various reports give different “reasons” cited for the closures, but with Anheuser-Busch InBev, generally speaking the biggest fundamental reason is — money. Costs versus profit, both brewpubs came up lacking, and with Anheuser-Busch InBev that means they were expenditures willing to be cut.

Moss Mill Brewing is Closing Their Doors on December 31st

Just earlier today, Moss Mill Brewing Company posted on their social media pages that they will be closing their doors at the end of the year – on December 31st, 2023.

Located at 109 Pike Circle, Unit D , Huntingdon Valley, PA, United States, Pennsylvania, the brewery has been a strong part of the local Huntingdon Valley community for the past 5 years. They originally opened in February 2018, but have found the last few years challenging and unable to maintain operations.

Their post on social media read:

Since we opened in 2018 Moss Mill Brewing Nick and I have enjoyed the tremendous support of this great neighborhood, our friends, our family, and all of you.

Nick and I have taken the past couple of months to reflect on our lives and those of our growing children. It is with a great deal of sadness that we announce the closing of Moss Mill Brewing at the end of this year. Our last day of operations will be December 31st.

The last several years have been a tremendous challenge. We are deeply grateful for the commitment and dedication demonstrated by our staff, some of whom have been with us since the very beginning. We’d also like to thank all of the amazing people we have had the pleasure of meeting, engaging with and getting to know. To our Collaborator Club members, it has been the pleasure of a lifetime to create something that so many of you chose to make a part of your lives. The customer support everyone has shown us over the years is truly humbling, and we cannot say THANK YOU loud enough.

We look forward to the next chapter of our lives and hope to see you all one last time before we depart. Keep an eye on our socials for specials as we get near the end.

Devil’s Eye Brewing Closings Its Doors on September 30th https://thebeerthrillers.com/2023/09/21/devils-eye-brewing-closings-its-doors-on-september-30th/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=devils-eye-brewing-closings-its-doors-on-september-30th Thu, 21 Sep 2023 12:32:06 +0000 https://thebeerthrillers.com/?p=12484 Devil’s Eye Brewing is Closing Their Eye

Last night at 6:40 PM Devil’s Eye Brewing Company announced on their social media pages that they will be closing their doors on September 30th, 2023.

They are located in Dillsburg right on Route 15. They are 7 minutes and 2.5 miles from Big Bottom Brewery, as well as the Greystone Public House. Centralized on the main road through – Route 15 – in an old barn like structure.

They were known for their live music, ‘happening scene’, good food, and a place of great merriment and meet up in the Dillsburg area. A large venue with plenty of seating, space for the live music, and a busy bar. They served their community well.

Announcement

The following announcement was made on their Facebook page at 6:43 PM last night (9.20.23):

Four years ago we set out on a journey, never expecting we’d have to end it so soon. However, like so many others we can no longer continue to operate at our location in todays economy and have simply exhausted ourselves in every way. Our last day open will be September 30th, 2023…. We would love to see as many of you as we can by then!

With that being said, we’d like to thank all of our Devil’s Eye family (aka)staff for riding out every storm with us… There truly are no words that will ever fully express how much each of you will FOREVER mean to us, or how grateful we have been for your loyalty, and continued support ( You’ve all made the book we will write one day 😉) The road has been anything but easy, yet you stood with us and gave us a million percent day, after day. We have never enjoyed working beside anyone as much as we have each of you.

We’d also like to thank all of the amazing people we have had the pleasure of meeting, engaging with and getting to know. The customer support so many have shown over the years is truly humbling, and we can not say THANK YOU loud enough… and trust me… WE ARE LOUD!

At the end of the day, we started this journey with many goals in mind but, the change in this worlds compass altered those goals. Our # 1 goal however, still remains in tact and that is… We have NO regrets. Not one. We have learned from the good & the bad… During a time when the world was afraid, our futures uncertain… a dark cloud reigning over us all, it was those of us who engaged that brightened the path ahead. From the customers, to the community and it’s local business owners that we have tried to support as often as we could, from the incredible musicians we have met that have connected rooms full of people by speaking how the world was feeling with their talent and emotion, to those that brought them to us because they wanted to play, you’ve brightened our journey. There truly is no way to thank every one we have encountered enough. No matter what the encounter was, it taught us something incredible. And finally, we thank our families. Many of you have met some or all of our own families therefore, you will understand how important it is for us to say whole heartedly, without a single one of you…. We could NEVER have made it this far, nor would we have tried. Your support has been the most critical part of our accomplishments and we love you all, thank you for tolerating our crazy everything. You are the very best humans we know. For you we are blessed.

While we could go on and on about the incredible things we will take away from this journey… We will end it with this… When one door closes…. You kick open the next one … See y’all soon 😉

Devil’s Eye Brewing Company (Facebook Post)

By 6AM this morning (9.21.23), their post has already received over 450 reactions and 189 comments and nearly a hundred shares.

Closings, Condensing, Squeezing, Bubbles Bursting

Is the craft beer bubble bursting? Is the brewery industry condensing? Are more breweries closing? Yes, maybe, yes, no, who knows?

It certainly seems like we’re in a restructuring phase for craft beer as a whole. Breweries are closing more frequently right now, its not just a perceived thing, its a full thing. There is also a lot more buy – outs, mergers, and restructuring by breweries and with other breweries – including some of the big companies like AB InBev, etc.

Times are definitely changing. Economic situations are different than they were when the craft beer boom really hit, and then when the craft beer scene blew up years and years ago as well. Theres an ebb and flow to things, so it will be interesting how the next few years factor into things.

A lot of craft breweries are also at that ‘hump’ stage. The years four through seven are the make or break years for most businesses; and craft breweries are no exception. Most of the breweries we see closing in our area are in this window (having been opened in 2016 through 2018 or 2019). The COVID-19 / coronavirus didn’t help things for many of these businesses either, either speeding up their demise, or forcing them to change too drastically, or even hindering their initial openings.

We are seeing some breweries expanding – but they are fewer and fewer. Pennsylvania seems to have some new openings, some new expansions, but on the whole – its more negative (despite some spin doctors out there) with more breweries closing. Even bigger breweries are brewing less and selling less as well. Staple beers that have been industry favorites are under – performing on the markets this year and sitting on shelves longer, and even being returned from distributors.

We will most likely be doing a more comprehensive look at this near the end of the year. Stay tuned for that.

Dillsburg

Amy and I got to visit Devil’s Eye Brewing once; last year in February 2022. We did a trip through the Dillsburg area hitting Big Bottom Brewing and Devil’s Eye Brewing on our way through. We would like to wish the owners, staff, and loyal clientele all the best in the future, and hopeful to see what future endeavors they come up with.

Fermentery Form Announces Closure https://thebeerthrillers.com/2023/04/02/fermentery-form-announces-closure/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=fermentery-form-announces-closure Sun, 02 Apr 2023 17:15:27 +0000 https://thebeerthrillers.com/?p=10924
Fermentary Foam Announces Temporary Closure

Fermentery Form Announces Temporary Closure

Unfortunately this is no April Fools joke. Fermentery Form announces a temporary closure yesterday on their Facebook page. (They announced it at 2:06 PM on March 31st, 2023.)

The Announcement

Posted at 2:06PM yesterday on Facebook:

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Fermentery Form will be closed to the public until further notice. Fear not, all is not lost, we just need time to weather a season.

Thank you to everyone who has enjoyed this place and brightened our spirits. We will rise again in an even more resplendent form, soon enough. Til then, howdy and good day. 🙏

Fermentery Form – Facebook Post

There is no word yet on the duration of this hiatus, or what it all fully means. No word on anything really at this point other than their announcement that they are closing. This could be a temporary hiatus, a short term thing, a long term thing, a changing and re – branding, anybody’s guess right now.

Since their post they have received an outpouring of support on their social media platforms. We hope they can soon turn things around (in whatever capacity that means) and are able to soon re – open. We hope nothing but the best for all involved.

Fermentery Form

As per Untappd, Fermentery Form is a micro brewery from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They have 91 unique beers with nearly 16,000 ratings. They have a global average rating of 4.15 (as of 4.1.23). Their Untappd description reads: We are a small artisan brewery opening soon in West Kensington, Philadelphia. We focus on wood aged beers fermented with our own mixed cultures.

Thanks For Reading

Thank you all for reading. How is everyone’s April Fools Day? Fall for any brewery’s tricks or anything on Facebook, Instagram, or wherever? This is always the day of “we’re deciding to add a Bacon Ketchup Spaghetti Monster Beer” and other things like that. (Or as I saw a meme – the day that Martin House Brewing goes and gets their inspiration for beers.)

Drew (from Knights of Nostalgia) and I are currently in AC – and will be coming home from AC today. We got here yesterday around 5 PM and are checking out today around 11 AM – Noon and will be then home around 3 – 3:30 PM. Tonight is also Night 1 of WrestleMania. (Main Event looks to be Kevin Owens and Sammi Zayn vs. The Usos (c) for the Tag Team Championship.)

In honor of that – let me shoot a shout out to our Stone Cold Beer Review:

Also – as a heads up – tomorrow night (pretty much when WrestleMania Night 2 will be ending) at 11:59:59 PM EST – the Conference Finals round of our Battle of the Breweries (2023) tournament is ending. So make sure you vote before then. You can vote here:

Thank you all very much for reading. It is always disappointing to have to write these “closure” news posts. But unfortunately, they are becoming more and more frequent. 2023 is not looking like a kind year so far to start. Hopefully that gets turned around.

Thank you all for reading, and if you like, please share, comment, like, subscribe, and follow.

Cheers All!

Modern Times Beer Announces Closure https://thebeerthrillers.com/2022/02/14/modern-times-beer-announces-closure/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=modern-times-beer-announces-closure Mon, 14 Feb 2022 23:30:00 +0000 https://thebeerthrillers.com/?p=8723
Modern Times Beer today released an announcement about their upcoming closure.

Modern Times Beer Announcement

In very un-Valentine’s Day like news, we have the sad news that Modern Times Beer has announced their upcoming closure. This is tough news as they are a very popular brewery with a large distribution market and some really incredible beers.

Their announcement that they posted at 4PM today (2.14.22) with the above image reads:

As of the end of this week, we will be closing our Portland, Oakland, Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles locations. It is a surreal and painful turn of events for us, and we realize that the suddenness of it puts many people we care about in very difficult positions. We wish that there were another way to resolve the financial issues we now face, but we have been put in a position—by the pandemic and global declines in the craft beer industry—from which this tremendously difficult path is the only way forward for us. While it is a path that we feel will lead to a renewed vision and new life for Modern Times, it doesn’t make taking these drastic measures any less heartbreaking. An instagram caption doesn’t seem like adequate space to go into great detail here, but we have prepared a statement on the closures and what’s next for MT, which you can read via our blog (link in bio). We know we’ve asked a lot of our friends and family within the last 2 years, but if we could ask just one more thing, it would be that you pay some of your favorite beer enthusiasts a last visit this week. The affected locations final day of business will be Friday.

*League members and those with pickup items at the affected locations will receive separate communication about next steps

Modern Times Beer (Facebook Post)

You can find their blog here: Modern Times Beer Blog – Hard Decisions and the Path Forward.

Their blog post leads off with the following:

Today is the most difficult day we’ve ever had at Modern Times. Over the last two unimaginably challenging pandemic years, we’ve done everything we could to keep all of our newly-opened locations afloat in a landscape we never could have imagined when we began building them. As new leadership has stepped up and taken the helm over the last few weeks, it became clear that the financial state of the company that we are now tasked with directing is not just unsustainable, but in immediate and unavoidable peril. As a result of this, we are forced to make some incredibly hard choices, which—while necessary for the health and continued success of our company—will result in many of our talented, hardworking staff losing their jobs.

As of the end of this week, we will be closing our Portland, Oakland, Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles locations. It is a surreal and painful turn of events for us, and we realize that the suddenness of it puts many people we care about in very difficult positions. We truly wish that there were another way to resolve the financial issues we now face, but we have been put in a position—by the pandemic and global declines in the craft beer industry—from which this tremendously difficult path is the only way forward for us. While it is a path that we feel will lead to a renewed vision and new life for Modern Times, it doesn’t make taking these drastic measures any less heartbreaking.

Stay tuned as we update this post as more comes out leading up to their closure.

Closing

(Article edited: 2.17.22 – 9:45PM)

Modern Times posted about their closure tomorrow with a series of pictures:

Tomorrow at 5PM, we will close our doors in DTLA, Santa Barbara, Oakland, and Portland. We have so many great memories at these spots; a whole lot of rad beers—and even radder people—have sat at our bars, and we are eternally grateful to every person that had a hand in making these places what they were. Thank you to everyone who has come out over the past few days; our kitchens are officially out of food, and we are moving through packaged and draft beer and coffee swiftly. We heartily encourage folks to swing by and close it out strong tomorrow.—NOTE: If you have outstanding orders to pick up at any of these locations, we highly recommend collecting them tomorrow. If you are unable to, information on how to proceed is forthcoming.

Closures

Unfortunately it seems like the bubble is not quite near bursting yet on breweries and closures. COVID-19 / coronavirus certainly hasn’t helped things (exasperated many breweries, the country, and world wide). There has been large growth for years in the number of breweries, and it seems like we are now at that tipping and bursting point where we might start to see more and more closures than openings. Hopefully not.

Other Half Brewing Company will be opening this Friday (in Philadelphia) and that is good news, and is nice to hear in counter to Modern Times Beer closing on Friday. Maybe its a yin and yang kind of thing. Who Knows. Hopefully there will be more openings than closures in the future.

For more articles on openings, closures, and brewery news, please see below:

Thanks For Reading

As I’ve said in the Other Half article, I will be making my way out to Philly on Friday to check out their grand opening. Hopefully I’ll see some of you there. The place looks banging and the tap list looks killer!

Cheers!

Couch Brewery’s Announcement

It is with complete sadness today to announce – and especially today, with it being Small Brewery Sunday – that at 6PM today (just 3 hours ago, while I was at work) – that Couch Brewery in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, announced they will be closing.

They posted on their Facebook page today at 6PM that they will be shuttering their doors, with their last day being scheduled for Sunday December 19th, 2021.

You can read their post here:

They say all good things must come to an end and boy have we had a beautiful run. With a tear in our eye and a beer in our hand we are sad to announce our last day will be on Sunday, December 19th. It has been a pleasure to serve you all over the last few years. Having you all in our “living room” has been like sitting on a couch and chatting with family. The stories, laughs and friendships we have created are extraordinarily precious to us and we will treasure them forever. With that said, we invite you to join us for our “12 days of Christmas” to help kick our kegs. Be sure to check our hours for the next couple weeks as we do have a few private parties already booked. Soon, another fantastic brewery will be occupying our space. Tortured Souls Brewing will introduce their awesome beers as well as some of your Couch favorites. Check them out at https://torturedsoulsbrewing.comFrom the bottom of our hearts, we sincerely thank you for your patronage and friendship these past few years. It has been our privilege to serve you.

Facebook – Couch Brewery

This is very sad news to hear, and certainly reinforces the belief of ‘shopping small’ on today, and every day.

Couch Brewery

I got to visit Couch Brewery last year on my trip out to Indianapolis. Bobby Nacho took me around on a little tour of the brewery and gave me samples of all of their beers on tap. Was a wonderful experience, and I enjoyed the time spent with him talking beer, and enjoyed the beers as well. So this is very sad to see happen.

On Untappd, Couch Brewery is listed as a Micro Brewery from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. With 136 unique beers and 14,245 ratings (as of today – 11.28.21). They have a global average rating of 3.61. They have their description section left as blank.

The Importance of Small Breweries and Shopping at Small Breweries

Today is “Small Brewery Sunday” (#SmallBrewerySunday), and this shows how vital it is to shop at the small local breweries. Helping those who give back to their communities. Those you live with as neighbors, those you see on a regular basis. Shopping at the small breweries helps your neighbors, your friends, your community; rather than helping some corporate conglomerate who is actively trying to hurt small breweries.

Bobby Nacho summed up his thoughts as a comment on the closing page:

“I really enjoyed my 11 months working there. Darren, Beth and Mel are three of the best people I’ve ever worked with with, and I’m so happy to call them my friends.”

Bobby Nacho

This shows just how much these small breweries mean to their communities. How impactful and needful they are, and how much we need to reinforce and help them. Especially in this troubling times. With COVID-19 still very much a real and present danger to communities, businesses, and the like. With economic hardships as a cause of all of this. With the rise in aluminum and grain on the horizon. We need to be shopping closer, local, and near us more and more.

Tortured Soul Brewing

There isn’t a lot of information yet on Tortured Soul Brewing, but you can visit their website here:

Their site has a load up video talking about a “craft brewery with a unique style” and “coming soon”. We will keep everyone updated on this.

Couch Brewery and The Beer Thrillers

We would like to wish our condolences to the closing of Couch Brewery and wish the best for all who helped make it, worked there, and who is affected by this closing. We hope for the best for everyone involved.

Fury Brewing Company’s Facebook post

Announcement

Scrolling through my Facebook newsfeed just a few minutes ago, (which is mostly breweries and beer related pages), I passed over Fury Brewing Company’s post. Which you can read here: “Fury Brewing Company – Facebook”.

This was posted at 9:40AM (and I saw this at 10:02 and writing this very post up right now at 10:05AM).

Their post reads:

All of us here at Fury Brewing have loved serving you all for the past four and a half years. With those years come many memories we will always cherish!

We are very sad to announce that we are officially closed.

For some people who didn’t see our original post about our closing – Unfortunately, Covid has taken a toll on many business’ including ours, but we are thankful for the years spent with our customers.

We love each and everyone of you and are going to miss the conversations with you!

Thank you for continuing to come in during our last month!

Fury Brewing Company (Facebook)

The Closure

Sadly, this isn’t the first closure in the area, and unfortunately its not the only one listed as a result of COVID. Certainly COVID-19 has not been kind to the brewing industry, and quite a few breweries, businesses, restaurants, and various other companies have also shuttered doors over the past year or so.

Fury Brewing Company was located on the outskirts of Pittsburgh in Irwin. Spigot Brewing also located in the Pittsburgh area has also recently closed, citing COVID as one of the reasons. You can still check out Fury Brewing’s website here: Fury Brewing Company Homepage.

It is with a heavy heart making this announcement. Fury Brewing had a devoted following and was very involved with their community, so it is sad to see them go. We wish the best for all involved in their futures and hope some good may come of this with their workers and the property.

Thanks For Reading

Thank you all for reading. Hopefully things will turn around, as COVID starts to get more under control, and life gets back to normal more and more. I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy and happy. Today I’m looking to get to do another road trip of breweries and will be heading my night at Boneshire Brew Work’s 5th Anniversary Celebration. Hopefully I will see you there.

Miscreation Brewing is Closing It’s Doors in Hanover https://thebeerthrillers.com/2021/01/10/miscreation-brewing-is-closing-its-doors-in-hanover/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=miscreation-brewing-is-closing-its-doors-in-hanover Mon, 11 Jan 2021 03:49:00 +0000 https://thebeerthrillers.com/?p=7023

Sadly, another brewery is shuttering its doors for the last time. 2020 (and now 2021) has not been kind to a lot of breweries. From normal strain of business, to the economics of a pandemic, to shut downs and lock downs, to the craft brewery market blowing up and there being a new brewery nearly every other block, there has sadly been a lot of brewery closings in the past 365 days.

A few other breweries have shuttered their doors this year citing “coronavirus / COVID-19” and lock-down and shut down issues as the impetus for their closings. Spigot Brewing and River Bend Hop Farm and Brewing both closed in 2020 stating COVID-19 reasons. And this is just Pennsylvania. There has been many others across the country )and the world) that have closed citing similar reasons. (Mikkeller in NYC closed this year – permanently as well.)

Miscreation Brewing’s Facebook post on December 28, 2020

On December 28, 2020, just before New Years, during the second shut down in Pennsylvania for breweries and entertainment establishments (casinos, restaurants, gyms, etc.) they posted the above message. Saying that effective Thursday December 31st they would be closing until further notice.

Earlier today (January 10th, 2021) Miscreation Brewing Company LLC posted the above message on their Facebook page.

It reads:

It is with great sadness that after almost 6 years, Miscreation Brewing Company will be closing its doors. Due to the financial burdens that COVID-19 has inflicted into our business, we must make this very difficult decision. We understand although this will impact many of our faithful followers/patrons, we take solace in knowing we have fostered many friendships over the past 5-1/2 years that will last a lifetime. We played a part in other introductions and in some cases even a place for first meetings that have ended in marriage! We can’t express enough gratitude to our many employees/team members over the years for their dedication, contributions to the vision and ultimately the customer experience.Additionally, we are pleased that we were able to contribute to the revitalization of downtown Hanover and partner with Main Street to bring a vibrant experience to so many.We would like to wish continued success to our fellow breweries in the area: Something Wicked Brewing (Great collaborators and friends of ours from inception), Aldus Brewing Co., Center Square Brewing, Sign of the Horse, Warehouse Gourmet and of course The Circle! We would like to offer all Mug Club members an opportunity to come by and pick up their mugs and enjoy a beer on us until we kick the final keg that is tapped. This will be available during the following hours:

Friday January 15th from 5:00-8:00 pm

Saturday January 16th from 12:00-3:00 pm

Thanks for all your support over the years and we wish each of you the best in 2021 and beyond! Miscreation Ownership and Team!– Cheers.

Miscreation Brewing on Untappd

A loss to Hanover Pennsylvania

This is certainly a loss to Hanover Pennsylvania and the craft brewing industry and local area. They have had a great following in the town of Hanover and a strong presence in the community since 2015.

Last year on a trip with a friend into York and Hanover we got to stop there, and enjoy some beer at their location, before taking a four pack to Codorus State Park.

We here at The Beer Thrillers wish them good luck in their future endeavors. We also hope something good comes to the business front, perhaps another brewery, or fine restaurant, as the location is a wonderful spot and could serve a new brewery or restaurant perfectly.

This is indeed tough times for many small businesses, breweries, restaurants, and people in general. We all need to support each other and these businesses and breweries we want to survive the upcoming year. We are seeing the end of the tunnel and the light is on; vaccines are being sent across the country, relief looks to becoming for some small businesses and restaurants, and hopefully more in the future.

So I urge everyone who can, go out and support your local businesses and breweries. Buy to go food or a four pack at your favorite small craft brewery, take it home, talk them up with your friends, give them good reviews on social media, share their posts, help get their names out there.

Likewise, if you are a struggling brewery or restaurant or business and we here at The Beer Thrillers can help you, reach out to us, and see what we can do to help. We would love to help out!

Stay safe everyone. Mask up, wash your hands, and support and love each other. This has certainly been a tough time, but we are nearing the end, lets stay strong!

Cheers!
