Troegs Brewing is Releasing Oktoberfest on August 5th https://thebeerthrillers.com/2024/08/03/troegs-brewing-is-releasing-oktoberfest-on-august-5th/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=troegs-brewing-is-releasing-oktoberfest-on-august-5th Sat, 03 Aug 2024 13:38:54 +0000 https://thebeerthrillers.com/?p=15379

That Time of Year Again

Its August…. so you know what that means….. Oktoberfest! (No seriously, hear me out, its time for Oktoberfest.)

Although already out in the wild via the newest variety pack – Perpetual Exploration Variety Pack 3 – the Oktoberfest by Troegs Independent Brewing officially hits the shelves of their brewery on Monday, August 5th 2024. It will be going out to distribution shortly thereafter. (The variety pack started showing up in places like West Connection Beer Vault and others as early as July 26th. The variety pack includes Perpetual IPA, Graffiti Highway IPA, Hopora IPA, and the Oktoberfest.)

Oktoberfest will be on draft starting the following week – August 12th – at the brewery.

(Last year Oktoberfest was released on August 1st.)

Tröegs Oktoberfest

By boiling a portion of the mash, we create a bright, dry maltiness.

John Trogner – Tröegs brewmaster and co-founder

Tröegs Oktoberfest is 6.1% ABV – not too high and not too low either. The lager is true to its origins, a good toasty lager that would make any Bavarian happy. Brewer tasting notes for the Oktoberfest are caramel, toasted oats, sweet caramel, fresh baked bread, and flowering herbs.

Troegs Independent Craft Brewing collaborated with German artist David Leutert to make the can label and some of the artwork on merchandise. They have also collaborated with another artist for the tee shirts that will be released to celebrate the Oktoberfest season. Leutert took inspiration from the Bavarian flag and the traditional bier halls of Bavaria to create the design. Festzelte is the Bavarian bier gardens that you see traditionally in pop culture with the tents and the white and blue everywhere.

Lagers

Troegs Brewing has several lagers to scratch any lager fan’s itch. They have the year round Troegenator Double Bock, they have the Sunshine Pilsner, they also currently have When in Doubt (a helles lager) and they’ve had some recent scratch lagers – Scratch 511 and 514 in particular. The Oktoberfest Lager joins their Long Live Lagers celebration series.

Oktoberfest Lager can be found in 12-oz bottles and 12-oz cans. You can use their Tröegs Brew Finder to find it.

Troegs Brewing Releasing Field Study IPA with Revamped Packaging https://thebeerthrillers.com/2024/04/02/troegs-brewing-releasing-field-study-ipa-with-revamped-packaging/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=troegs-brewing-releasing-field-study-ipa-with-revamped-packaging Tue, 02 Apr 2024 10:56:54 +0000 https://thebeerthrillers.com/?p=15151

Troegs Brewing’s revamped Field Study IPA packaging

Troegs Brewing Releasing Field Study IPA with Revamped Packaging

Its that time again of the year where Field Study IPA is released by Troegs Independent Brewing. Though this time its coming out with revamped and new packaging. Same beer, same recipe, just new packaging, new look. Its still the seasonal once a year Field Study IPA you’ve always loved, just now its recognizing that its thee Summertime IPA. It also goes from a green, more hop vine inspired logo and artwork to a teal, more bold, more colorful and eye catching look. This also helps distinguish it from the numerous other Troegs beers that have a similar look, color, or “hop” name (though Field Study IPA doesn’t have a “hop” name). Troegs Brewing certainly has no shortage of ‘hop’ names in their current and past library – Hop Horizon, HopBack, Hop Knife, Hopora, Blizzard of Hops, HopCyclone, etc.

The new packaging really makes it stand out and is bold.

The beer will be releasing shortly at both the brewery and their full distribution footprint. It will be sold in 12 oz bottles and 12 oz cans. Packaging for cans will be in six packs and twelve packs, and the same for the bottles.

You can find it using their Brew Finder.

Field Study Summertime IPA

In the hop fields we daydream and study, and at the brewery we tinker and test. For Field Study, dry-hopping delivers notes of ripe grapefruit, mango, pear and melon. Add a backbone of local rustic pale malt, and Field Study is just what we were after: a slightly hazy yet bright summer daydream come true.

We taste: ripe grapefruit, pear, hint of melon. Hops: Citra, Mosaic, and El Dorado.

Field Study IPA is a 6.2% American style IPA.

It is a popular seasonal beer from Troegs Brewing with an average Untappd rating of 3.79.

Little Nator Releases on Monday https://thebeerthrillers.com/2024/01/26/little-nator-releases-on-monday/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=little-nator-releases-on-monday Fri, 26 Jan 2024 16:49:19 +0000 https://thebeerthrillers.com/?p=13727 Little Nator Releases on Monday – January 29th, 2024

This Monday Troegs Independent Brewing will be releasing their latest seasonal – Little Nator. Its the rascally cousin to the Troegenator! Unlike the bigger 8.2% version, this spring time lager is just 5.5% and perfect to sit and enjoy a few at a time. Lighter in body and in ABV, this is a wonderfully well rounded beer.

Recently releases as an unfiltered version as Scratch 506, the Little Nator makes its debut on Monday – January 29th, 2024 as the new seasonal beer by Troegs Independent Brewing. We first announced the release of this back in September – Troegs Brewing to Release Little Nator in Spring 2024 – and we gave some information on it there:

It will be coming in at 5.5% ABV, and will be sold in 12 oz cans. This will become a seasonal release each year, so it will also be hitting distribution as well.

It is brewed with Pilsner and caramel malts as well as Tradition, El Dorado and Hersbrucker hops.

Troegs Brewing to Release Little Nator in Spring 2024

The Little Nator is coming out in 12 oz cans, 12 oz bottles, and will also be sold in the Perpetual Exploration Variety Pack (PEVP).

Perpetual Exploration Variety Pack

The Perpetual Exploration Variety Pack

The Perpetual Exploration Variety Pack (or PEVP) will also be releasing on Monday – January 29th. This will be taking the place of the “Canthology” series of variety packs that Troegs Independent Brewing has been releasing.

The variety pack is a 12 pack of 12 oz cans, and contains:

  • 3 Perpetual IPA
  • 3 Sunshine Pilsner
  • 3 Little Nator
  • 3 Lollihop DIPA

The variety packs will also see small distribution, and make perfect pick-ups for those who haven’t gotten to try all of Troegs beers before.

Little Nator

The Little Nator is the “rascally cousin” of the Troegenator. Or in Troegs Independent Brewing’s own words:

Here at Tröegs, spring is in the air as we begin to thaw out of winter’s deep freeze. With warm weather on our minds, we’re excited to release our brand new seasonal, Little ‘Nator Springtime Lager.

This light bronze-toned lager is built on a foundation of caramel and pilsner malts to lend notes of crusty bread. Weighing in at 5.5% ABV, Little ‘Nator is modeled as a lighter take on our iconic Troegenator Double Bock.

Hopped with El Dorado, Hersbrucker and Tradition, Little ‘Nator displays hints of stone fruit and delicate floral notes. And, our house lager yeast ties it all together with a touch of fruity esters and a sweet but crisp finish.

Use our Brew Finder to score some in your neck of the woods!

Nugget Nectar Is Being Released the Day After Christmas https://thebeerthrillers.com/2023/12/18/nugget-nectar-is-being-released-the-day-after-christmas/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=nugget-nectar-is-being-released-the-day-after-christmas Mon, 18 Dec 2023 18:30:00 +0000 https://thebeerthrillers.com/?p=13322 Christmas Present

Its an extra Christmas present – the day after Christmas! Nugget Nectar is releasing on December 26th, 2023.

One of the most anticipated releases every year, is coming earlier than in past years, this time coming as early as December 26th. Nugget Nectar is one of the most anticipated seasonal releases at Troegs Independent Brewing.

Seeing distribution immediately as well as being released at the Hershey brewery location itself, Nugget Nectar will be available in 12 oz cans, 12 oz bottles, as well as the 16 oz pounder cans.

Despite being released in 2023 – Nugget Nectar will be accompanied by its annual “First Squeeze” events, this time in 2024. (So no doubling down of First Squeezes in 2023.) Look for January for any First Squeeze events. You can stay up to date on that at the Troegs website: Nugget Nectar – First Squeeze.

Nugget Nectar

Nugget Nectar is an Imperial (Double) Red Ale. Not an IPA as sometimes thought or believed, or misperceived as. Its considered a Red Ale (or Amber Ale). It clocks in at 7.5% ABV (the same as their Perpetual IPA), and it has a listed 93 IBU.

According to Untappd it has over 479,900 ratings and a global average rating of 3.99 (as of 12.18.23). The Untappd description for it reads: Squeeze those hops for all they’re worth and prepare to pucker up: Nugget Nectar Ale, will take hopheads to nirvana with a heady collection of Nugget, Warrior and Tomahawk hops. Starting with the same base ingredients of our flagship HopBack Amber Ale, Nugget Nectar intensifies the malt and hop flavors to create an explosive hop experience.

You’ll be able to find Nugget Nectar at the Troegs Brewery at 200 East HersheyPark Drive, or throughout their distribution footpath. If unsure how to find it – you can use their Brewfinder at: Find Troegs – Troegs Brewfinder.

Victory Brewing and Tastykake’ Koffee Kake Ale to be Released on December 22nd

As we had previously mentioned here on the blog – Victory Brewing Company and Tastykake Company Team Up for Koffee Kake Ale (back on October 5th) – Victory Brewing Company and Tastykake have teamed up to deliver a coffee cake infused beer – Koffee Kake Ale.

From their latest release information on it:

The 6% ale takes the delicious flavors of Tastykake’s Koffee Kake into a sweet ale with notes of pound cake & cinnamon. Victory Brewing Co. will release its Tastykake Koffee Kake Ale on Friday, December 22, at its taprooms in Downingtown, PA; Philadelphia, PA; Parkesburg, PA; and Kennett Square, PA. Join for a first taste, giveaways, and pairings from Victory and Tastykake from 11 am – 4 pm. The first 10 consumers in attendance at each of Victory’s Taprooms on the 22nd will score special and limited co-branded prize packs.

Koffee Kake Ale

As stated above, its primary release will be on December 22nd.  Koffee Kake Ale will ship to Victory’s distribution network in mid-December 2023 and be available in 6-pack 12 oz. bottles and draft until early March 2024, while supplies last.

Brand crossovers are on the rise in craft for the unique and special value they bring to drinkers. As Victory entered the world of collaboration, it was especially important for us to select a partner whose identity, values and flavor profiles would align with ours in a way that connected with our loyal fan base.

Kelly Irvine, brand manager of Victory Brewing Company

The Koffee Kake Ale is a “classic ale” style beer thats everything but classic. Its going to come in at 6.0% ABV, and its going to have notes of cinnamon and pound cake. They will be releasing this as 12 oz bottles (no cans, and no draft).

We are thrilled for the opportunity for Tastykake to collaborate with Victory Beer on such a unique and tasty mash-up. We believe the Koffee Kake Ale brings the best of these two iconic brands together in a flavorful way for our passionate fans.

Ashley Hornsby, Tastykake brand manager

They have 911 unique beers, and over 2.8 Million reviews, with a global average rating of 3.67 (as of 12.15.23). Their Untappd description reads: Co-founders Bill Covaleski and Ron Barchet The story of Victory Brewing Company starts on a school bus in 1973 when fifth-graders Ron Barchet and Bill Covaleski stepped aboard, on their way to a new school. The two became fast friends and remained so, even as they grew up and went to college on opposite coasts. Just months out of college, Bill’s appreciation of good beer and access to his father’s home brewing equipment inspired him to explore the hobby. That same year (1985), Bill gave Ron a home brewing kit as a Christmas gift. With that, both Bill and Ron developed their love of the craft, and a friendly rivalry grew between the two. The good-natured competition pushed Bill and Ron to become accomplished.
