(See our Beer Review: Hershey’s Chocolate Porter Yuengling Brewery)

A Historic Collaboration of Two Pennsylvania Icons

The Yuengling Hershey’s Chocolate Porter marked a milestone in 2019, introducing the first collaboration between two legendary Pennsylvania brands, each with over a century of heritage. Yuengling, America’s oldest brewery, and Hershey’s, the name synonymous with chocolate, have come together to create a beer that truly celebrates Pennsylvania’s roots. This special brew has grown in popularity every year, becoming a seasonal staple for fans across the region.

What’s Inside the Brew? A Chocolate Lover’s Dream

Yuengling’s Chocolate Porter brings together their time-honored Dark Brewed Porter recipe with the smooth, rich flavor of Hershey’s chocolate. Clocking in at a drinkable 4.7% ABV, it combines dark roasted malts and caramel notes for a luscious, well-balanced porter that’s sure to satisfy anyone with a sweet tooth. The chocolatey richness makes it perfect for pairing with everything from smoked meats to rich desserts.

Jennifer Yuengling, Vice President of Operations and a 6th-generation family member at Yuengling, shared her excitement: “One of our top priorities is listening to our fans, and we know how much they look forward to this fall-favorite. We’re thrilled to bring it back for those searching for something special in their seasonal beer lineup.”

A Limited-Time Treat for Fall and Winter

With fall festivities underway, Yuengling Hershey’s Chocolate Porter has quickly become a go-to choice for holiday gatherings and cool nights. Only available while supplies last, it’s the kind of seasonal brew that you’ll want to snag sooner rather than later. To find a retailer near you, simply visit the beer locator on Yuengling’s website.

For those planning gatherings or just looking to cozy up with something special, Yuengling Hershey’s Chocolate Porter is a great choice to add to the seasonal beer rotation. With its smooth chocolate profile and Pennsylvania pride, it’s a true standout for craft beer fans.

About Yuengling: America’s Oldest Brewery®

Yuengling has been brewing in Pottsville, PA since 1829 and now distributes its beloved beers in over 20 states, including the much-loved Traditional Lager, Black & Tan, and seasonal favorites like Oktoberfest. The partnership with Hershey’s showcases Yuengling’s commitment to innovation while celebrating local heritage—a true testament to Pennsylvania’s vibrant brewing and chocolate-making legacy.

Grab a bottle, raise a glass, and toast to fall with this one-of-a-kind chocolate porter.

We are working on a massive project here at The Beer Thrillers. We are creating a map of all of the breweries across the United States. State by state we are adding maps of all of the different states with every brewery in each state. (We will eventually get to the US Territories, as well as the Canadian Provinces, and possibly more countries; as well as doing some fun maps like a map of all the breweries we’ve been to, and other fun maps.) You can find the brewery maps here:

We are also working on a project of creating printable and downloadable PDFs and resources to be able to check and keep track of all of the breweries you’ve been to. So stay tuned for that project once we are finished with the Brewery Maps of the US States.

Troegs Brewing and Wigle Whiskey Team Up to Bring Peach Whiskey Back https://thebeerthrillers.com/2022/08/23/troegs-brewing-and-wigle-whiskey-team-up-to-bring-peach-whiskey-back/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=troegs-brewing-and-wigle-whiskey-team-up-to-bring-peach-whiskey-back Wed, 24 Aug 2022 00:32:00 +0000 https://thebeerthrillers.com/?p=9674
Pennsylvania Peach – a Whiskey collaboration from Wigle Whiskey and Troegs Brewing (Photo courtesy of Troegs Brewing Company’s Facebook page)

Peach Time… or… Whiskey Time?

Ahh…. peach picking time again! If you are a peach connoisseur or just enjoy demolishing them (like my daughters do), then this is the time of the year for you. (Unfortunately for my daughters it also goes hand in hand with going back to school and the end of the summer days.)

So with the end of the summer, what better way to kick it off with some peach flavored whiskey? As the sun starts setting quicker, and the personal fire pits are un – tarped or opened up, and the logs are thrown on and people start celebrating into the darker hours that are fast encroaching us, why not enjoy some delicious peach whiskey?

And this is exactly why Troegs Independent Craft Brewing has partnered up with Wigle Whiskey Distillery (again) to collaborate and release their Peach Whiskey.

As PennLive puts it:

“The fruit is featured in the newest release from Tröegs Independent Brewing and Wigle Whiskey – the have again teamed up to release Pennsylvania Peach Whiskey.

And, $1 from every bottle will be donated to Feeding Pennsylvania.

PennLive: Peach Whiskey from Troegs Brewing and Wigle Whiskey is Back

Peach Whiskey

From the Troegs Brewery’s website:

“Pennsylvania Peach starts with Wigle’s made-from-scratch whiskey distilled from regionally grown organic wheat grain. For this ‘twice-barreled’ spirit, Wigle aged the whiskey in new charred oak barrels for four years, then transferred it to barrels that once housed Tröegs Freaky Peach Pennsylvania Sour Ale. After resting for nearly three months, the whiskey was steeped with 220 pounds of dried peaches and apricots. With notes of fresh peach, papaya, dark caramel, and a hint of nutmeg, Pennsylvania Peach is a sweet way to sip through the rest of the summer.”

Troegs.com

Troegs Brewing Company and Wigle Whiskey has collaborated in the past to make this peach whiskey last season as well. The product manager for Wigle Whiskey has stated that she enjoys this year’s batch even more than last year’s.

Release and Availability

Pennsylvania Peach will be released out and to the wild on Thursday, August 25th. It will be available in 375mL bottles at 39$ (retail price).

It can be ordered for pick up in Pittsburgh at either Wigle Whiskey location or purchased during a special pop-up event at Tröegs Independent Craft Brewing’s brewery in Hershey (Hershey Park Drive) on Thursday, Sept. 1. No word yet on if this will be available in stores outside of the two collaborator’s businesses.

Stone Cold Steve Austin and the WWE Are Celebrating 3:16 Day with El Segundo Brewing Company https://thebeerthrillers.com/2022/03/15/stone-cold-steve-austin-and-the-wwe-are-celebrating-316-day-with-el-segundo-brewing-company/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=stone-cold-steve-austin-and-the-wwe-are-celebrating-316-day-with-el-segundo-brewing-company Tue, 15 Mar 2022 14:48:20 +0000 https://thebeerthrillers.com/?p=8943
Stone Cold Steve Austin promoting his new American Lager with El Segundo Brewing Company for 3:16 Day

3:16 Day

Give me a hell yea! What?! Give me a hell yea!! What?!

Do you know what time it is? ….or well, more importantly, what day it will be (tomorrow)? Thats right, it will be Austin 3:16 tomorrow, and do you know what that means? That means we need to open a can of whoop —- I mean, open a can of El Segundo Brewing Company’s new ‘Steve Austin’s Broken Skull American Lager’. (Ok, maybe that’s not as catchy as Stone Cold’s catch phrase, but… well, its still something anyway.)

Steve Austin with his American Lager beer.

Tomorrow is March 16th (or St. Patty’s Day Eve), and that means its Stone Cold Steve Austin’s 3:16 Day. WWE, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and El Segundo Brewing Company are all celebrating the big day in a big way.

Previously, Steve Austin has collaborated with El Segundo Brewing Company on an IPA which was called ‘Broken Skull IPA’. We have covered it previously in a review here: Beer Review: Broken Skull (Stone Cold IPA) (El Segundo Brewing Company).

Steve Austin’s American Lager

Steve Austin’s Broken Skull – American Lager by El Segundo Brewing Company

El Segundo Brewing Company’s collaboration with Stone Cold Steve Austin – the Steve Austin’s Broken Skull American Lager – will be releasing nation wide tomorrow on 3:16. No word on what areas or locations will be getting it here in the Central PA area, but most likely distributors like Breski’s Beverage, West Connection Vault, Weis’s, Giant’s, and Wegman’s will have it.

From the WWE press release on the beer:

The pro wrestling world will be celebrating Austin 3:16 Day on Wednesday of this week.

As seen in the video below, WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin has announced that his Broken Skull American Lager will be released nationwide on 3:16 Day. Austin has worked with the El Segundo Brewing Company for a few years now to release his own line of beers.

WWE will celebrate 3:16 Day on Peacock and the WWE Network with a special edition of The Best of WWE. The episode will be hosted by Stone Cold and will feature his best WWE matches and moments from over the years. Also on Wednesday, WWE’s The Bump will have Kevin Owens as a guest, and he will be there to discuss Austin accepting his invite for The KO Show at WrestleMania 38.

WrestleMania Season

It’s WrestleMania Season and the WWE Universe is gearing up for WrestleMania 38, which is looking to be including an appearance (or possibly even a match) with Stone Cold Steve Austin himself. (He hasn’t wrestled a match since losing to The Rock at WrestleMania 19.)

From the Royal Rumble (which by the way, we also did a beer review of a beer called Royal Rumble – by Funk Brewing) til WrestleMania, the time frame is collectively known as “WrestleMania Season”, and WWE is always in pure hype mode during this time (Mid January – Early April).

Steve Austin will be doing a ‘beer’ event in Texas tomorrow on 3:16. For more details on that you can follow WWE and their social media pages, or follow Stone Cold Steve Austin and his social media pages, or follow El Segundo Brewing Company and their social media pages.

This year’s WrestleMania is being held at the AT&T Stadium (Dallas Cowboy’s home stadium) in Dallas, Texas. So this year’s ‘Mania is especially a Texas Sized Event. (And thus the even larger push with Stone Cold Steve Austin.)

You can read about the WrestleMania 38 event and the card for it here: WrestleMania 38 (Wikipedia).

The Battle of the Breweries (2022) – March Madness

The Battle of the Breweries (2022) – Bigger, Bolder, and Badder

As we started last year, March also means ‘March Madness’ and here on The Beer Thrillers we call it ‘The Battle of the Breweries’ and make it WWE themed. Last year we had conferences of HEELs and FACES with divisions of Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Ric Flair, and Triple H.

This year, we are doing four big conferences in honor of WrestleMania 38 main events – Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, Ronda Rousey, and Charlotte Flair.

For information on the event and how you can vote, please see our main page: March Madness (2022) – The Battle of The Breweries.

Tonight end’s the second round of voting. You can see the current conferences and vote directly here:

Scott Hall

I would be remiss not to mention the passing of Scott Hall yesterday. A man who fought his demons and was a friend to many, an inspiration to even more, and a joy to watch for many wrestling fans. We would like to offer our condolences to his family and friends, and say “Hey Yo” one last time and let him rest in power.

One of my favorite descriptors for dark beers on the blog here was always “Razor Ramon hair dark black” (or some version of that). I will still use the line occasionally, and will fondly think of all the great memories he has given me and many others.

As Scott Hall said at his Hall of Fame induction speech:

Hard work pays off, dreams do come true. Bad times don’t last, but BAD GUYS do.

Thanks For Reading

Tomorrow morning will be busy before my 9AM work start. I will be posting the Round 2 results of our March Madness tournament, as well as posting the new voting pages for Round 3. So be on the look out for that 7-8AM.

Hopefully then after work (I get done at 5PM), I will be able to grab a four pack of the new American Lager, and give a review of it. Fingers crossed on all of that getting done nice and smoothly.

Anyway, thanks for reading, and please continue to vote in the tournament! Its been a lot of fun so far!

Cheers!
